Legasea Bar & Grill was excellent from start to finish. The atmosphere is lively but still relaxed—great energy without being overwhelming. The staff were friendly, attentive, and made us feel welcome right away.

Food was on point—fresh, flavorful, and cooked perfectly. You can tell they care about quality, especially with the seafood. Drinks were solid, service was smooth, and everything came out in good time.

Great spot for a casual meal or a fun night out in the city. Would absolutely come back.

Celebrated my boyfriends birthday here and had an amazing time ! The atmosphere was beautiful with good tunes playing. The food was great. We had the garlic bread appetizer and the pesto and marinara sauce complimented it so well. For entrees we had the salmon , mussels & hot honey chicken sandwich with fries and mac&cheese all 10/10. Our server Shay was amazing and had great energy which added to our amazing experience. They gave my boyfriend a happy birthday card which was super cute and thoughtful. We also sang happy birthday with a delicious chocolate cake. Will definitely return and try other food items.

I have heard of Legasea by a few people and it kept popping up on my socials. I decided to go and see what the fuss was about and I am happy to report I was pleased. The food was amazing in every way seasoned well, grilled to perfection and bursting with flavor. I’m not big on sweets, but enjoyed the strawberry shortcake. I will be going back, soon!

This spot popped up on my IG as a steak-and-fries buffet, and curiosity led me straight there. While the location is easy to miss, the food and drinks were absolutely immaculate. The ambiance gave off a classic, retro vibe that set the tone perfectly.

The wings were fantastic, but the real star was the steak entrée—massive, tender, and literally melting in your mouth (pause). The house fries were just as impressive, whether eaten on their own or dipped in the sauce. The portion was so generous that I honestly couldn’t imagine tackling the buffet.

Service was top-tier. The server was attentive, anticipated our needs, and remained warm and courteous throughout the meal. This is an excellent dinner spot, especially if you’re aiming to impress on a more intimate date. Prices are very reasonable for steak, and the setting feels private and refined. Highly recommended.

Restaurant with 2 bars in the Moxy:

Pros: great food with a no frills atmosphere. Their martini is a must try.

Cons: for a “high end” spot when asking to take away the leftover fries and steak the staff should do this for you since you wouldn’t want to touch the greasy fries with your finger to put in the box.

I had an incredible experience at Legasea in NYC. From the moment I walked in, the atmosphere was vibrant and welcoming. The food was absolutely superb—each dish was packed with flavor and beautifully prepared.

The service truly stood out and made the evening unforgettable. Ashley, our server, was attentive, friendly, and knowledgeable, making sure we had everything we needed. Christian, the busboy, was just as impressive with his efficiency and professionalism. And Claudete, the manager, went above and beyond to ensure everything ran smoothly and that we felt taken care of.

Legasea sets the bar high with unmatched service, amazing food, and a warm atmosphere. I can’t wait to return!

Second visit to the famous Legasea left me slightly disappointed.

The food, as always, was consistent in both flavor and presentation—no complaints there. The service, however, fell short of the high standards one expects from an establishment known for its hospitality.

We were seated at 8:00 PM but did not see a waiter until 8:35, which is simply unacceptable in my opinion. On the bright side, we were greeted warmly by Nick and the hostess, which set a pleasant tone. Our server, Lars, was attentive and ensured the rest of our experience was smooth and enjoyable.

Unfortunately, the general manager, Todd (if I caught his name correctly), left a very negative impression. He approached the table next to ours to check in on the guests but quite literally turned his back to us and walked away without acknowledging our table. In stark contrast, Claudette from management made the effort to visit nearly every table, ensuring guests were well taken care of—she’s the kind of leadership this restaurant deserves.

Todd’s dismissive behavior left such a bad taste that I regret to say this will be my last visit to Legasea.

The food here was on point — we tried the ribeye steak and pesto pasta, paired with a glass of wine and their signature margarita Relationship Status and everything was delicious. I’d definitely come back, though maybe not falling out of my seat excited.

We concluded the evening with an Excellent dining experience at Legasea Bar & Grill after visiting the Metropolitan Museum of Art to view the “Superfine: Tailoring Black Style” exhibit, before heading home.
I am thankful we made reservations because Legasea got pretty busy, or perhaps it was just a typical Friday evening at a chic Manhattan space.
Kudos to Thomas, our server, for managing many tables and providing the right amount of time and attention for us to enjoy our dining experience.
Chef’s Kiss for the Baby Gem Salad with nice-sized shrimp. If you have a sweet tooth, try the rum cake; you won’t be disappointed.
