Happy hour had a good mix of items, and the shellfish were fresh and well handled. Oysters were plentiful, and there were a couple of genuinely pretty cocktails that didn’t feel gimmicky. We had the Virginia Select oysters on Happy Hour) and the Blue Points. The Virginia Selects were bigger, but the Blue Points were more briny. The Steamed Mussels and Drunken Clams were a good Happy Hour portion and delicious. The full menu is extensive, with enough variety that we’ll be back to try more than just happy hour.
The space itself is inviting, and on a warmer day, the covered patio would be a great place to sit. Service was smooth and efficient, even as the bar got busy.
Worth noting: there’s a small discount for paying cash; otherwise, there’s about a 3% credit card swipe fee. Not a dealbreaker, just good to know going in.
Overall, a strong addition to the neighborhood—easy to enjoy casually, but with enough on the menu to keep you coming back.
Everything I ordered today was inedible. I initially ordered the steamed mussels, but they were so overcooked they were the size and texture of pencil erasers. They were removed from our bill.
Not confident, in the cook’s capabilities to prepare mussels, I asked for a cup of the seafood chowder. The server brought a bowl to make up for the mussels. However, the chowder tasted like salt and thyme. You couldn’t detect any seafood and if there was it was overpowered by the heavy handed salt and herbs.
Meanwhile, the servers were way too busy chit chatting and on their phones to notice our empty cocktails and the dissatisfaction with my meal.
We started out with a great bartender and then he left an another server took over. It was primarily the food for me. The ambiance is really cool and the menu reads well.
The couple at the end of the bar just down from us were also disappointed with their experience (so it’s not just me) and when we were walking to our car, said they would not be returning.
As a person who did time in the service industry, I always try to be mindful my time doing those jobs, because it’s not easy work. All I can think here is the tremendous opportunity that’s missed because of bad cooking and lackluster service.
Ps- kudos to new server Frankie. He was very attentive
The atmosphere on the patio was relaxed and cozy, with great music and a friendly vibe. Our server Batty was attentive and made sure everything was perfect from start to finish. Highly recommend this place for anyone visiting Sarasota — we’ll definitely be back!
Very nice decor and relax atmosphere, new place downtown, on the boulevard of the Arts area.
We had happy hour Mussels and they had good flavor, the service was friendly and our bar woman was very knowledgeable and had some great suggestions, the cocktails were good and different!
It is a nice and relax place to grab a bite and enjoy some yummy cocktails.
The service was incredible Dylan was our server he was great — everyone was so attentive and welcoming — and the atmosphere made the whole experience even better. You can tell they really care about their food and their customers.
We will definitely be coming back! Highly recommend! ✨
