Enjoy delicious cuisine from our unique wood fired oven, while watching our chef’s culinary skills in the North Shore’s only display kitchen. Enjoy dining in comfortable surroundings – a cozy fireplace, spectacular views of Lake Superior and a covered, heated dining area – that encourage tales of the days activities and dreaming of the adventures for tomorrow.

Great walleye sandwich, really nice staff and servers. We had bloody Mary’s, beer, sandwiches, soup, coffee, and carrot cake. All was delicious.

We reserved seating for 4 adults in one of the igloos on the grounds below the restaurant proper. The setting and igloo were festive with the inside of the igloo festooned with Christmas ornaments. Our server greeted us with a smile and led us to our dining spot. The igloo meal was advertised as a “dining experience” and “fondue feast”. Our expectations for $60 per plate were ample hors d’oeuvres and entree level meat and vegetable servings capped by warm fondue cheese. Indeed, what we discovered was a small plate of bread, some pickled olives and such, as well as small sausage slices. Feast? A paltry amount of brocollini was available. Very pedestrian and uninspiring. Request for seconds yielded a cup of sausage and more sliced bread. There was no main event, but alas plenty of sugar, graham crackers, milk chocolate candy bars (for Smores, not chocolate fondue!) and marshmallows for desert. Poor food value, interesting decor and proximity to Lake Superior. Food quality that you would encounter in a tavern. Very mixed experience indeed.

Sadly, in several days of eating out in this area, this was the biggest disappointment. Both in the high price and the low value. One of our hot meals was brought to the table and it was refrigerator cold. Just not the good feelings that we expected for the posted menu prices. Wade staff was very friendly but it shouldn’t be their job to apologize for the kitchen. We will try them again, but if the second time is like the first time it will be the last time. Also all the appetizers and entrees were brought out together in the same moment. Very unusual for a restaurant trying for this price point.

The food was amazing. I had their Lobster Mac N’ Cheese, and it was delicious. My husband had their Pasta Arrabiata, and it was better than mine. I would highly recommend that if you go there and it is available. They had some specialty drinks and a full bar. They staff were friendly and welcoming. We had made reservations as we had a party of 8 and got there on time and didn’t have to wait. Not a lot of tables, but the restaurants atmosphere was very relaxing and inviting. Once you enter the lodge and go around the front desk, there is a small area with a fireplace that they had someone playing their guitar. We were able to hear that in the restaurant and had a nice ambiance. Would recommend, little pricey but not terrible.

I had been here before so was expecting great food at reasonable prices, but there was a bit of sticker shock upon receiving the bill. Granted it IS at a resort, but for a couple hundred bucks I would have expected a bit more flavor or unique presentation instead of the safer relatively in-seasoned combination of the same three vegetable offerings and proteins. The food wasn’t bad, and was cooked safely, but that’s where it stops. High prices for fairly un-exciting results.

Excellent Anniversary Chef’s Table with Chris. We sat at a bar looking over a section of the kitchen as Chris created and told us about our courses. Food was high quality, creative, and prepared as we watched. The restaurant called us a few days ahead to inquire about preferences and any dietary restrictions. We hope to return to Rock Ledge Grill overlooking the whitecaps of Lake Superior. This is becoming a destination for really good food and a pleasant place to eat. The menu Chris set before us set high standards for quality and creative use of ingredients. We were there for dinner, but noticed revamped menus for lunch and breakfast. Easily found by bike or car, just off Scenic Highway approaching Two Harbors.
You have my permission to use my 3 photos here. Cheers
P.S. when you visit, be sure to congratulate Chef Chris and the team on the resort being named one of the ”Travel & Leisure” Best of 500 in 2025

Great place to get some food! They had a special that was delicious and refreshing. I know it is important to keep refreshing The minus, but there are a few items that I would like to see come back.
1. Deconstructed pumpkin cheesecake
2. Creme brulee
3. Fried provolone
These items were amazing, please bring them back. Other than that, you will be glad you ate here

First time here and it was a wonderful experience! We sat next to the large windows and had the pleasure of a beautiful view. Our server was so nice and the food was very good. Walleye was cooked perfectly. Unfortunately I didn’t take pictures of the cheese curds or the chicken wild rice soup but both are a must try! The chef even stopped by to deliver our appetizer. Very glad we found this place!

They have live music a few nights a week. Relaxed but comfortable atmosphere. Food could be better quality but outdoor seating even in winter.
