Absolutely fabulous service, wonderful staff, food is sublime and the wine list is lovely. Very reasonably priced for the quality and amount of food you get. Cannot recommend highly enough. Especially if you like lobster, the half lobster portions are still very generous and beautifully prepared without breaking the budget.

We went for my husband’s birthday, this was my second time there. We had excellent service, the pauses between courses is just right. We started with the platter of 12 huître Fines de Clair which were of great quality and the foie gras. My husband had the half lobster and I had the daurade royale grillé. Both were excellent, but I was surprised to get the whole fish and struggled a bit with the bones. The accompanying vegetables were not my favorite. For dessert I had the Moelleux tout chocolat sans gluten, very delicious. My husband had the Profiterole which looks very grand and came with an impressive birthday candle. We enjoyed the whole experience and we also met a very charming couple who we had a nice conversation with. Definitely recommend this restaurant for the seafood and service.

Seafood lovers, stop here! This restaurant is specialized in fish and especially seafood, but excellent meat can also be tasted (Angus beef). All is excellent and freshly made. The decorations are modern and in line with Fontainebleau history and the castle. The staff is very friendly. Booking is highly recommended.

I love the way food is cooked and presented. The fish is cooked to perfection and presented as a whole. So make sure remove the skin, because the scale is still on. The profiteroles as a dessert is not what I thought. Rather one giant cream puff with ice cream standing in a shallow pool of chocolate drizzles.
Happy eating

Starter: fresh squid salad and creamy butter shrimps.
Main: lobster is so fresh and sweet! Although the size is small. Smashed potato is so creamy to pair with fish.
Dessert: forgot the name, but it’s big and good!
Service: much faster than other French restaurant!

I had a wonderful experience at L’écailler du Chateau! The welcoming staff made me feel right at home with their efficient service The decor is elegant and tasteful, creating a lovely atmosphere. The Moules Frites were delicious, especially with homemade fries! And don’t miss out on the indulgent Tarte Tatin – it’s a must-try. If the weather’s nice, make sure to enjoy their superb terrace ☀️ Overall, a fantastic spot for lunch during your visit to the chateau. Great value for money! ️

Very nice French restaurant with a traditional more elegant vibe. A drink of Ricard was followed by an excellent lunch. On a gloomy November day and after visiting the Château Fontainebleau (just across the street) I enjoyed thoroughly the moules marinières, Chardonnay and an exquisite Café Gourmand. A special treat was the most delicious bread I’ve had in a long time. I was impressed by the most friendly and professional waiter (not at all the normal Parisian arrogant attitude to foreigners who try to speak French lol – I speak it fluently). The interior was peaceful, classy and inviting. I highly recommend.

My husband and I truly enjoyed the entire experience. We tried the Sancerre wine for the first time and loved it. We had roasted Sea Bass with vegetables and it was divine!
