My friend who stayed in Utah for a while has been bringing me to all the fun local joints in the area. We went to Harmon’s yesterday and saw that Leatherby’s was right across the street. So, today we made our way over for lunch.
My friend was shocked to see that it was slow. I guess this joint is always packed to the brim. With my kidney transplant, I am happy that it’s kinda slow but it would have been fun to eat in a full house of guests.
We were sat right away. Joe served us today. My friend and I already checked out the menu while I was at my dr appointment. So, we knew what we wanted. Drinks were dropped off and orders were taken. I got to roam the floor and look at all the fun decor! I’m a sucker for candy in big jars! I love how they are all lined up nicely. The paintings of the ice cream sundaes were nicely painted. Whoever painted them did such a great job!
For lunch today I grabbed the crispy chicken buffalo sandwich. I did modify it a little. I did ask for grilled chicken and no bun with my sauces on the side. I also got the cream of broccoli for my side.
I’m not a big chicken breast girl but this chicken was great! The cheese was nicely melted over my chicken. The fried onions on top were the best! I did add a lot of buffalo sauce, so tasty. I dipped each bite into the ranch and it was the perfect bite every time! The cream of broccoli soup was soooooo good! Hearty chunks of broccoli and the soup was creamy. It was a delicious bowl.
We did get a Lydia’s bananas foster to go. I’m looking forward to eating it! Joe did a great job taking care of us! The venue is super cute and fun! I’m looking forward into eating the ice cream later. I’m happy we got to have Leatherby’s as a meal while I’m staying in SLC. It was fun to enjoy what the locals do.

OMG….this place is a must try even if you are not an ice cream lover . We went to celebrate my husband bday and it was packed at 9pm…we were seated fast and our server Valden was absolutely amazing. And the ice cream is to die for. The ice creams are amazing, we got the corners banana split and the Carolyn’s caramel cinnamon twist and it was absolutely delicious.

The Churro one was AMAZING!!! It had horchata ice cream and caramel from condensed milk. It almost tasted like a tres leches.

Good old-school style ice cream. They are not stingy on the amount of ice cream and toppings. The restaurant was busy yet the service we received was great. Our server didn’t lost his smile even though we order one ice cream to share for the family (we usually don’t eat much sweet and we already had a big meal before coming here). It took some time to wait for our ice cream hut seeing how busy they are, it is acceptable. We enjoy the ice cream and left the restaurant with full belly and smiles on our face. Will definitely come back

Amy’s Hot Fudge? More like Amy’s NOT Fudge. I love this dessert, but recently they’ve cut the amount of fudge so much that there’s barely any. I hope they bring back the original amount.

For 30+ years I’ve been coming here for various occasions. I’m always treated so kindly. The ice cream is excellent. No one has better hot fudge or strawberry milkshakes! Shoutout to our server Sunnie! Two members of our party were dairy free and she was very considerate. We asked about ingredients, she was knowledgeable and found answers, and she asked great follow-up questions to make sure everything was okay for us. We were impressed by her service. Great outing! Definitely busy but understandably so. Both food and ice cream were delicious.

Went there for their $4.10 subdae special for 41 years in business on black friday… when we ordered and received the Sundays…they were huge… we though they charged us for normal size but we were wrong… I’d recommend this place…very delicious…they make their own chocolate according to the wife who’s also an addict of their chocolate syrup
