Excellent experience overall. The pasta dishes were well executed and clearly made with care. I ordered the Carbonara topped with grilled chicken, and the chicken was perfectly cooked juicy inside with a nice sear on the outside. The pasta itself was al dente and coated in a light, flavorful sauce that didn’t overpower the dish. The shaved Parmesan and herbs added a nice finishing touch.
Others at the table ordered different pasta variations, including meatballs, and everything looked consistently well plated and appetizing. Portions were generous without being excessive.
Service was attentive and timely, and the atmosphere felt comfortable and relaxed, making it a good spot for both casual dining and a sit down meal. I would definitely return and recommend this place to anyone looking for solid, well prepared Italian food.
Both Servers who helped us were amazing and I’ll definitely come back again!!! Rhiannon, Natasha!

My husband and I made reservations for 6:30 pm Christmas Eve at Leader Block. When we arrived, no one greeted us for approximately 4 minutes. We were then led back to the dining room and seated. I noticed that there were only three other tables occupied by patrons. The music was softly playing Christmas music, and all the tables were nicely set. The waitress then told us that it was a Buffet for $65 per person (all you can eat) and asked us if we would like a drink. We ordered a glass of wine and water. When we asked where the buffet was located, she pointed through this open door into a storage room. We really didn’t see her or any other waitresses for 10 minutes or more. A group of 4 other patrons walked around looking for the buffet, then finally saw the open door and walked in, and came out chatting about how “lame” it was! I got up and snapped some photos of it and agreed. We stayed and tried to make the best of our “Christmas Eve” dinner…but both decided that this would not be highly recommended by us to anyone. And furthermore, we do not plan on returning to this establishment. The three chaffing dishes were nearly empty, and looked like leftovers from lunchtime. While the food may have been delicious at the time it was prepared….it wasn’t warm or tasty when we dished up small portions of what was available. It was a very poor representation of Leaderblock, and certainly not worth the price. I would strongly WARN people against going to a Buffet at this restaurant.

What a fantastic dining experience at Leader Block Restaurant! We enjoyed their Valentine’s Day dinner for two, served over multiple courses, with the option to add wine pairings. Every course was excellent — beautifully presented, flavorful, and well-paced, making the evening feel relaxed and special. We loved everything about it and will definitely be going back. We made a reservation beforehand.

On a normal everyday evening, this place is great. Nicest restaurant in Ferndale. However, we had a disappointing experience on Valentines Day. We had made a reservation several weeks ahead of time, and we were seated in the “gallery” at a folding cocktail table with a cheap cover and a single carnation for ambiance. The menu was limited so we opted for the course meal for two. It took an hour for the first course to reach our table, and it was tiny. The menu was not described well on the paper, the courses were minuscule and one of the courses was literally one small scallop per person.
The food itself was tasty, unique, and well crafted. Our waitress was lovely, I just wish we hadn’t had to sit and wait for an hour to get our first course. We did thoroughly enjoy the flat iron steak and the cocktails.
Overall, we had much higher expectations based on our previous experiences at this restaurant, but we still enjoyed the food and drinks.
As a side note, the art gallery was interesting. I understand that art is subjective, a couple of the pieces were really very neat and interesting, but at least half looked like someone was really really bad at spackling a wall and decided to frame it.

Made a reservation for Valentine’s day and showed up and was seated after 4 people told us they’d be right there.
There was a nice looking 4 course fixed menu option for $175 (for both people, not including drinks) that we opted for as the limited menu looked pretty unremarkable.
Started with 2 nickel sized scallops and steak tartar that were decent, but a bit underwhelming.
The next dish was beet ravioli and a flavorless Burrata salad. Both were flat.
The main steak took ~45min to arrive after the server had to ask what round we were on after 40 minutes of waiting. For the most part we were ignored by the staff (to be fair it was a busy night).
Dessert was hard to eat, mostly fell off of the spoon and the chocolate was too thick to break with a utensil.
Unrelated notes:
They only have one restroom which was occupied the entire time.
Gnats were everywhere.
I saw a man poor heavy cream into his spaghetti which was pretty entertaining.
They played instrumental Wrecking Ball by Miley Cyrus and Duel of Fates from Star Wars Episode 3.
Overall the experience cost me over $250 with tip and 2 hours. Will not be returning.

This is where they had the “buffet” of 6 cold and basically empty containers. They had some mashed potatoes and stuffing, Italian restaurant you say. they call that a Christmas Eve dinner $65 a person plus an automatic gratuity of %20 percent on that!!!
Shame on you. Disgusting food , Presentation and service.

The food at Leaderblock has always been on point for me — flavorful, hot, and honestly really good for the price. I’ve eaten there several times and enjoyed their catered food an event I attended. The catered meal was delicious, fresh, and served with caring team, plus my dine-in experiences have been just as solid. I love they have infused traditional seafoods with their italian dishes! Extra Delish!!
Let’s be real — they have a huge wine selection and a great bar, so that’s a win on its own. For me, Leader Block has delivered quality food, fair pricing, and good service every time.

We had a wonderful time with a large party of 8 in. A private room. The hosts are so welcoming and the food so good. But this is not a quick bite place, food does take time to be prepared and manifest- so come prepared to enjoy the company you are with!

Went on Valentine’s Day with a reservation. We were seated in the adjoining art gallery that had the whitest, bright lights that gave off the most, sterile, cafeteria vibes I’ve seen.
Walking us through the actual restaurant to get us there was just insulting. The vibe in other parts of the restaurant seemed romantic and nice, while the vibe where they seated us felt like an after thought with the sole purpose of making more money.
This feeling was further reinforced when it took over 45 minutes after ordering to get our food, with the waitress only checking in once in that entire time.
The only redeeming quality was the food, but that wasn’t nearly enough to make up for the horrible Valentine’s day experience. Especially for the cost. Probably the worst $200 I’ve ever spent.

We have wanted to go in here for years and so last night gave it a chance.
It wasn’t a good experience.
We ordered the special which and we later told it was not available so they suggested we swap it out with the risotto. We declined and ordered something else.
When we got our order, it came with a risotto which caused a little confusion. They did attempt to fix it by giving us what we ordered free of charge, but then charged us for the special.
In addition, the food was just off. Overly sweet.
We won’t be going back.
