We had a great evening as a couple. Le Trianon is a small cozy restaurant. The food was well prepared and tasty and the service was very attentive. They do speak a bit of english which helped.

Food was excellent, but rather old fashioned. Plates were rather out of date, and the restaurant itself was very outdated and old. The service was outstanding and the wine selection as well.

The service was very rude and unfriendly. The food was expensive, the cutlery was dirty, and I found a bunch of hair, probably pubic, in my meal. I do not recommend this place.

Food tastes only not bad. We were a big group and ordered different dishes. Most of the starters were with the same yellow curry sauce, and all meat dishes were with the same brown sauce. I don’t think that’s right…

Positives: Food, service, ambiance. Negatives: None to speak of.

Decor/Ambiance/Service: Situated on the Rue de Mulhouse (Saint Louis), Le Trianon is attractive from the outside (although not situated in an attractive location) with an outdoor seating area protected by parasols. The outdoor area is a bit dishevelled, ‘carpeted’ with artificial turf and situated adjacent to a short stay (2h blue zone) car park. The car park is convenient, although unattractive, but the seating area is hedged so that you’d hardly know it was there while eating. We didn’t really see the inside of the restaurant, so can’t comment on it. Service was courteous, friendly and timely and there was never a time we felt rushed.

Food: We ate on Friday lunchtime. We’ve previously tried to eat here in the evening without booking (that didn’t work out well due to it’s popularity). The menu focussed on a small number of dishes that smacked of France’s time honoured culinary prowess with a little international flair. We took took one ‘Menu Affaire’ and one ‘Trianon Viande’ (salmon followed by duck). The contents of each dish were varied, interesting and tasty. To try to describe the exact composition of what we ate might be pointless as I get the impression that this might vary reasonably often. I’ve added photographs to be sure you can see what we were served. The preparation and ‘Cuisson’ was perfect for all parts of our meal. The snails in the millefeuille d’escargots (I hope that accurately describes this bite sized délice from my starter) were the best I can remember eating. No hint of toughness or overcooking and not overpowered by herbs. In fact there was not one single part of the ‘Menu Affaire’ that I didn’t enjoy. As far as quantity is concerned, I don’t need a lot for lunch and this was far more than I needed. Really it was a pleasure to eat such well prepared, well cooked and well presented food. The prices were reasonable for such quality. Without any hesitation I’m happy to say that Le Trianon is the best restaurant in which I’ve eaten, in the Saint Louis area and my wife felt the same way. Well worth a visit.

I have been there 3 times, the meals are very tasty, a compliment to the cook. Only the service is a bit disappointing comparing to what they aim for. Because every time there was obviously a new waitress staffed and the service was not as expected in such a restaurant. I hope the Trianon can solve the service issues then it will be a perfect place to eat.

What a disappointment! After reading the reviews we were looking forward to something special. My wife had the lobster with risotto – it was served up in a most unattractive manner and the risotto was overcooked. I ordered a filet of Irish beef ‘a point’ without sauce and peppercorns. It arrived with sauce and peppercorns. When I complained it was whisked off to the kitchen and reappeared a few minutes later ‘tres bien cuit’ but without the sauce. The vegetables were cooked to death. Very poor indeed! We will certainly not be back and wouldn’t recommend it to anyone who likes good food.
