Should have come here sooner!
Was thoroughly impressed with Le Tambour Tavern. The whole vibe of this place is fantastic.
The building and what they have done inside is great. It’s got a nice bar area to sit and have a meal or just enjoy the drink, the restaurant is otherwise cozy and warm, with plenty of things to look at on the walls, it truly has a French vibe.
The food was also very good, our group of 4 was super satisfied, the Cote de Boeuf was cooked to perfection, and the sides were delicious.
We had two teens with us as well and they loved the food.
Highly recommend you check this place out and also check out their specials. We will be back.

On an early spring evening my wife and I managed to get a date night booked. After leaving a patio that was overly busy and not serving food, we thought we’d give Le Tambour a try (we wanted to originally, but thought we’d need reservations) we were surprised to find it lively, but not overly busy, tables were available but we wanted to snag seats at the beautiful bar. It was perfect ambience, the front door was propped open for the spring breeze, the fire was blazing and the golden hour was setting in.
We had a great conversation with the woman overseeing the bar, who also made some great recommendations. The food was excellent, classic, comfort & rustic dishes (it was roast night!), but with their own unique twists. Great time.

We were given a gift certificate to eat here and enjoyed every moment! The atmosphere is fabulous! Service was amazing! Not hard to get to either! We particularly enjoyed the chicken wings and a salad! Very fair pricing! The dinners that look expensive on the menu are for two people. We will be back!

A quick pit stop at the end of my personal mini Heated Rivalry tour before heading back to Toronto.
This quant small tavern has the best chips and aioli, the atmosphere and decor is enchanting and I wish I came later in the evening. The open kitchen is so beautiful. Also will be coming back for more food !!!!!

Tonight for my birthday this fine dining experience absolutely excelled. The service was amazing,the food was perfect and the ambiance was so comfortable my wonderful wife and I loved it . To be more precise my steak strips were perfectly seasoned and perfectly fire grilled . The bread was absolutely delicious and the fries amazing. The little tiny gravy boat had flavours that tantalized every taste bud . Tonight was epic and these folks went the distance, and my drink black revolver was delicious. It was a wonderful experience and a wonderful evening, a memorable time .

I’ve been wanting to come here since I moved to Hamilton for school can’t believe I decided to go on a snow storm day but so worth it! The cocktails were genuinely amazing I loved the heated rivalry inspired one the tall dark and Hollander I think it’s called. We got bread which was incredible, the Bavette fries and the apple cake. Literally banger after banger I might be here every week unless I practice some self control amazing experience tysm for even being open on such a snowy day❤️ sorry about the quality of my pictures lol

Stopped in here for brunch today and loved everything about this place! Delicious food, friendly staff, really cool ambience. Loved the oysters, poached polenta, and the burger was amazing too! I can’t wait to come back for dinner sometime soon!

Been meaning to try this place for a while! Service was lovely we got there promptly at 11:00 and there was a small line to get in. Lots of people had reservations but they do have some available if you walk in, but it sounds like this is not always the case. Food was delightful. I ordered the Cod cake Benny and my husband got the pulled pork version. Both were served delicious . My husband especially loved the hot sauce that was on his and I really love the Pickled coleslaw on my side. We also ordered the elk sausage which was so juicy and flavorful we couldn’t stop eating it.
Unbeknownst to us, this restaurant has become popular because of a certain show. If you know you know. Otherwise it has great decor, really friendly service, and honestly the food is just very good. I’m glad we came here even though we didn’t know it was becoming more famous because of the show. Love the atmosphere. And would definitely come back for dinner because everything was super tempting and they had an open fire that they grill on. Make reservations and come because you want to eat good food!

Really beautiful atmosphere coupled with delicious food. Their menu rotates frequently so you can’t get bored. Open concept kitchen with a windowed aging room for the mea – one of the chefs was really kind and explained how everything worked. Got their roasted hen but excited to try their steak next time. Highly recommend this restaurant!

Overall, a fantastic experience. They have a great selection of seafood and meat. The kitchen being on full display with the open flames greatly adds to the vibe. The server unfortunately dropped a glass of coke onto my wife, which is not great – but we understand that accidents happen. He apologized profusely and comped our cokes, as well as a coffee. Their brioche is absolutely fantastic. If possible, we would come back here just to buy a loaf! And the steak was, of course, the star of the evening. It is quite pricey, but totally worth it. Cooked to the perfect temperature, with an amazing crust, and it melts in your mouth! Even the fries were an experience, with the homemade aioli (which was probably the best we’ve ever had). We will be back for sure!
