A superb place for an anniversary dinner or for someone you want to impress. Le Sel Bistro could easily be overlooked while strolling down the street. However, doing so would mean missing out on some remarkable cuisine. We ordered the BTA and as someone who considers themselves an Eggs Benedict aficionado, I can attest that their sauces are spot on, and created from scratch. Additionally, we tried the Le Sal Burger with Bacon Jam, ranking this near the top of my favorite burgers as well. The venue is compact and tends to fill up quickly, I feel this contributed to the outstanding service we experienced. Also noticed a few intriguing pieces of artwork adorning the walls, though I believe they could benefit from a few more…

Went to Le Sel Bistro for a dinner date and it was honestly perfect. The atmosphere is cozy and romantic without feeling stuffy. The food was incredible…everything tasted really fresh and well thought out. We ended up sharing a few things and didn’t have a single dish we didn’t love. The service was friendly and attentive but not overbearing, which made it easy to just relax and enjoy the night. Definitely a great spot for a date night. Would absolutely come back.

We had a reservation and our tables wasn’t ready. We waited for about 15 minutes until we got seated. Atmosphere was amazing and the view but when it came to our food it took foreveeerrrrr. And food came out good but for that price for breakfast I don’t think it was worth it. And we get advice that the other party was here for this reservation, pretty much hinting time for us to go.

Le Sel Bistro is a very cute little spot with an amazing water view and a stylish French café–inspired design. It’s the perfect place for brunch (open until 3 PM), though it tends to get busy, so a reservation is a smart idea. The food is excellent—I especially loved the salmon Benedict and the cheesecake topped with pear. Prices are a bit on the higher side, but with the great food, attentive staff, and charming ambiance, it feels worth it.

Ray was very sick last week so I had to cancel PT as I am still not cleared to drive. Fortunately, we are both over it so I was able to make my PT appointment.

Following PT, it was off to breakfast. We have literally exhausted the restaurants in downtown Tacoma, except for those with no free or available parking.

We had driven past Le Sel bistro before today, but parking is very limited. Today, luck was in our favor and were able to find a parking spot right in front.

The restaurant is in a very old part of Tacoma and built on a hill overlooking Commencement Bay. We were greeted by a hostess who asked if we were a walk in or had a reservation, so I thought we were going to be turned away. I told her “ walk in”, to which we were asked if we wanted to eat indoors or on the heated, covered patio. We chose outdoors, and weren’t disappointed. We were seated on the outside edge which gave us an unobstructed view of the bay.

Our server was very friendly, attentive but unobtrusive. She was right there if we needed something without hovering or pushing us to eat and go.

Food and drink menus were delivered and of course, I looked at everything. I chose the bacon, cheese and arugula omelet with country potatoes. Ray chose the special of the day which was a caramelized pear French toast with caramel sauce, instead of syrup, and garnished with toasted hazelnuts.

We had the choice of espresso and French press coffee. We chose the French press coffee and then had to decide whether we wanted 2 or 4 cups. I picked 4.

The coffee was delivered along with 2 demitasse cups, raw sugar and a small pitcher of cream. I set a 2 minute timer and then pushed the plunger. The coffee was excellent with no bitterness or aftertaste.

Breakfast was delivered part way through our second cup of coffee. It was so nice to not feel rushed. This was all about atmosphere and the experience. Our meals were tastefully plated and tasted as good as they looked.

Our entire stay was an experience; n nm m from the coffee to the food to the view. The only blight was the sound of a weed whacker which finally ceased right before our meals were delivered.

This is definitely a restaurant for special occasions. It is a little pricey for day to day meals but it was worth eating there. I look forward to going back for dinner. I am sure it will be an experience to be remembered!.

Lovely establishment to dine in. I came for a Mother’s Day breakfast. Atmosphere is beautiful. One of my favorite things about this place was when I sat at my outdoor table I had a complimentary blanket in case I wanted to warm up. Absolutely totally used it!! My choice was a mushroom omelette. I was informed that the mushrooms on my plate were locally foraged.. as my plate arrived I noticed the cute little mushrooms I’ve seen on a few of my hikes! Now I know they are edible! The omelette was complemented by a side dish of cheesy grits. Also at the table was a bowl of French onion soup and their French toast. All items ordered were delicious. The atmosphere was classy and upscale but not stuffy. Staff was friendly, classy as you’d expect in this type of restaurant and helpful.
I certainly would like to come back.

Glad I finally tried this place, and I’ll definitely be back, but it fell short of five stars.

We were seated 15-20 minutes after our reservation time (we arrived 10 minutes early), and then it was more long waiting to place drink and food orders, and an even longer wait for the food to arrive. Nearly an hour had passed before we got our appetizer. We tried the warm brie, which was delicious, though small (cheese itself), probably best shared between two people max. I ordered the bacon omelette, and was shocked at how small it was. However, it was delicious. The bacon itself was fantastic.

The biggest pain point of the meal is that we were sat at the wobbly table right across from the bathrooms. And the are smelled strongly of toilet bowl cleaner, which intensified whenever folks came in and out of the bathroom doors. Definitely suggest some form of better ventilation.

I definitely don’t hold that against them. And I really would like to come back and book a seat on the patio, sample some of the cocktails that sounded great. But the very long awkward service, high price for the quantity of the food, and the bathroom smell at our table definitely tarnished this first visit.

A favorite for brunch! Whatever your mood (salty or sweet) they’ll do a good job. The French toast was delicious, breakfast sandwich was amazing and they have one of the best chicken soups we’ve had. (The soup was a soup of the day sadly, can’t always get it). Definitely will be back plenty more times.

This quiant gem was an ideal spot for our birthday brunch for four!

We were seated by the fireplace but opted for outdoor seating which was covered and heated.

We started off with Ginger Mimosa on Wings, watermelon tea, hot chai, sparkling water, & sparkling wine paired with the shareable Warm Brie board (yum).

Our brunch consisted of a delicious cup of potato leek soup, mushroom melody soup (with toasted bread), Nova Benedict, my daughter and I shared the Quiche plate.

Our server Noelle was delightful and very knowledgeable of the menu.

Definitely, returning to get a taste of the dinner menu.
