The food was genuinely excellent. I ordered the steak au poivre with fries, and my husband had the steak with mashed potatoes. After trying his, I instantly regretted not ordering the mashed potatoes too, they were amazing. He even said it was one of the best he’s ever had. We also shared the chocolate mousse, which was delicious but served in a very large portion, and there wasn’t an option to order a smaller one to share.
The only downside was the service. Our waiter wasn’t friendly at all and acted like he was doing us a favor. When I said I wanted fries, he sarcastically asked if I wanted ketchup, clearly joking about us not being French. It felt unnecessary and a bit disrespectful. At the end, the same waiter who had been dismissive asked for a tip from the very tourists he had been mocking, and we still gave it 🙂
Overall, the restaurant has great food and a beautiful setting, but I do wish tourists were treated with a bit more kindness. That’s the only reason I’m giving it four stars instead of five.
The service is excellent. Attentive, warm, and professional.
The space itself is beautiful, classic Parisian with real charm.
The food is genuinely top tier. The bone marrow is the best I’ve ever had. The beef tartare and steak au poivre are both outstanding, executed exactly how they should be. And the chocolate mousse is Incredible. Light, intense, and the perfect way to end the meal.
Highly recommend. This is the kind of place that reminds you why Paris still sets the standard.
However, we were disappointed with our steak au poivre. The steak was cooked perfectly but the sauce was lacking… all i could taste was the bitterness from the alcohol. Could have been an off day for the chef.
That being said, i would not rule our further visit/s and would still give their other dishes a try.
Service was good given the busy lunch hour. We were waited on by the gentleman with the handlebar moustache.
Reservations are a must.
I have ordered mushroom foie gras soup which is very nice and I think it is a must have item !
For frog”s leg , it is not salty enough but it taste good after I have added salt on it .
Unfortunately I was keep working and texting and can’t really enjoy the food and environment this time. I will definitely visit it again and try other dishes in my next trip
The menu is very French-food oriented (snails, bone marrow, frog legs etc)
I had a confit de canard perfectly cooked, and quantity-wise it was a good plate.
The ambiance was very pleasant.
I recommend!
Had a fantastic dinner at Le Petit Lutetia in Paris — a true gem of a French bistro. From the moment we arrived, the service was welcoming and attentive. Our waitress was friendly, professional, and made us feel right at home.
We ordered the fish of the day, foie gras, steak Diane, and the artichoke starter — every dish was beautifully prepared and absolutely delicious. Classic flavors done with finesse.
The atmosphere is spot on: a stylish blend of locals and expats, with just the right touch of Left Bank charm and understated elegance. Perfect for a romantic dinner or a chic evening out.
Café Lutetia really checks all the boxes — food, service, setting. Highly recommend!
