We’re a Belgian bakery and restaurant serving simple, wholesome and seasonal food. Le Pain Quotidien means the daily bread in French, and like our name suggests, we’re bakers at heart. Although our handmade, organic bread is how we got our start, we serve a variety of healthy options like organic coffee, pastries, eggs, tartines, soups, salads and desserts. At Le Pain Quotidien, we believe that food should be simple, nourishing and delicious. That’s why we source ingredients that are local or organic whenever possible. We also believe in the importance of eating a healthy, plant-based diet, so you’ll find many vegetarian or vegan options on our menu.

The restaurant has two sections: one for table service and one for to-go orders. The table-service area was completely empty, while the to-go side was full of people who weren’t even ordering anything. I sat briefly in the empty section and was kicked out by a waitress who spoke to me with open hostility. When I tried to speak to the manager, he took an attitude as well and refused to address the situation.
They wouldn’t do anything about non-customers taking all the seats, and when spots finally opened up, they didn’t even bother wiping them down—just left them dirty. Our drinks took 15 minutes to arrive, and when we politely asked for help, we were dismissed.
Unwelcoming, unprofessional, and surprisingly low-effort for a location that should be better. Definitely not worth the visit.
The service was friendly and efficient. We were greeted with a smile, and our table was ready right away. Even though the park was busy, the atmosphere here was calm and inviting, with plenty of outdoor seating and a relaxed vibe.
We ordered a variety of dishes to share, and everything was fresh, well-presented, and delicious. The Croque Madame Sandwich was rich and satisfying, with perfectly toasted bread, creamy béchamel sauce, and a fried egg on top that added the perfect touch. The Egg Cheddar Avo Breakfast Sandwich was equally impressive – the creamy avocado paired perfectly with the sharp cheddar and fluffy egg, making it a fresh and flavorful option.
The Organic Dutch Mini-Pancakes were a real treat – light, fluffy, and slightly sweet, served in just the right portion for sharing or enjoying as a light dessert. For drinks, we had a refreshing Iced Latte and a Small Latte, both smooth and well-balanced, as well as two fresh orange juices that tasted vibrant and naturally sweet.
What made the experience even more enjoyable was the setting. Sitting outside with the park’s greenery all around, enjoying great food and coffee, felt relaxing and special. It’s rare to find a place where you can have a high-quality meal in such a peaceful and scenic environment right in the heart of New York.
Overall, Le Pain Quotidien in Central Park is an ideal stop for breakfast, brunch, or a light lunch. The combination of fresh, flavorful food, friendly service, and the beautiful surroundings makes it a must-visit spot. I’ll definitely come back here every time I’m in the park
There was a larva or worm in my salad, the waiter initially disregarded my concern and they never issued a refund, even though they promised to.
Definitely do NOT recommend this place!
P.S. I also waited 40 minutes just for tea!
The service was friendly, welcoming, and attentive without being overbearing. Special credit to the manager, who leads the team with great care and attention.
Whether you’re a local or just visiting, this is a great spot to relax, enjoy great food and coffee, and take in the beauty of Central Park!
For 3 days, the service was exceptional. However on our last day, the lady server wearing an islamic clothing that served us on Sunday 10:30AM was not nice. We had to ask her for water, and it tasted like warm tap water. We could see the cold water behind the host table and wondered why she didn’t grab from there instead. She didn’t ask hows our food the whole time. And worst thing was, she insisted we should tip whatever the suggested tip in the receipt. I would have given more tip like the other days, but not for her. Tips are well-earned and she should’ve serve us better. I hope the management sees this so she will serve other guests better from now on. There’s always room for improvement.
