The restaurant is transformed from a house which gives it cozy and intimate atmosphere. Staffs are wonderful. It’s on a bit pricey side for the food they served. Food presentation was beautiful. Duck breast tasted so so. But the scallops were great.

Amazing food, very friendly service! Great selection even during COVID times. Our server Gail was so kind and made us feel welcome. I definitely will be coming again to this quaint French restaurant.

My husband and I enjoyed our meal and time at Le Lyonnais. The atmosphere is like sitting in someone’s home and removes all the hustle and bustle from eating out these days. We thought the escargot was the best we had eaten and our entrees were cooked perfectly. Our server was knowledgeable regarding the menu and quick to answer any questions. One highlight was meeting the chef himself. What a pleasure!

I am finally getting around to writing this review. This used to be one of my favorite restaurants and I was too depressed about its decline to say anything. Hopefully this will prevent you from having the same experience we had. The cheese appetizers were just a few minuscule pieces of relatively ordinary cheese, the onion soup was so salty it was inedible and the entrees were bland and lukewarm. I apologized to my sister and her husband who we took there for the first time after I had recommended the place and we probably should have left before the entrees, but we kept hoping things would improve. I have nothing but respect for Chef Gerard Labrosse, but after 50 years maybe it is time to move on.

Actually we used to love this place until this past weekend. The appetizers took about an hour to arrive. The reason was they burn the apps and had to redo them. The entrees we’re reasonably warm, but the sides were cool to cold.the biggest problem is there was virtually no communication between the waitress the kitchen and the customer. That can totally ruin a meal. Communication between the staff is key to a decent meal.we’ve had very good meals in the past and I really don’t want to totally write this place off. So we probably will wait a month or two and maybe give it another try. This will be their last chance, however. Personally I should have felt that they should have comped at least some of the meal and not offered just a free dessert.

Stay away! Worst dining experience in more than 40 years. We arrived at 6:45, a little early for our 7:00 pm reservations, and stood around in the lobby for 10 minutes without any acknowledgement that we were there. A waitress finally came by and said she’d find the hostess. Another 10 minutes went by and then a women with no hint of a smile asked our names and said she’s be right back. Another 10 minutes went by. Finally she returned, again without any hint of a welcome, and we were seated about 7:15 (the table, and several others, had been empty since we arrived). Our waitress was friendly, though maybe I’m getting old but I don’t appreciate a couple being referred to as “you guys”. We ordered at 7:30. No appetizers or cocktails, just soup and a main course. The French onion soup arrived timely though the crouton was mush. The main course arrived at 8:30. We both had seafood crepes. The crepes were delicate, the scallops bland and the shrimp tough. A couple of my shrimp still had shells on and my wife’s were cold. After finishing our meal we sat another 20 minutes before our waitress returned to ask about dessert. Not wanting to wait another hour for dessert, we paid our bill and left, never to return.

Good food and cozy atmosphere, yet overpriced. Sides are always the same, disappointed with rice (most likely instant from a packet) and half boiled/ steam potatoes. The meat was great, fish was more on a dry side, so order it in a crepe that will come covered in sauce. Had a 3 hr dinner with my husband. We had a very long wait, (~1 hr) before our salad and first drink to come out. And we came only about 20 min after the opening time. Also, was disappointed with the waitress. I specifically asked her to have my meal leftover wrapped to go (I purposely did not finish lamb, because I cannot eat large portions). I reminded her once more before the desert about it; and she agreed. And then at the end of the night she told us that she simply forgot and tossed everything away 🙁 We were not impressed how they handled this situation. For this upscale home-owned restaurant, one would expect a better care of their customers.

Absolutely blown away! Beef was tender and melted with every bite. Escargot were served delightfully in a crepe nest and the duck l’orange was as beautiful as it was delicious. The staff got wind we were eating the takeout in their parking lot–a couple of NH residents trying to make French food happen for my husband’s birthday (but not wanting to create out of state covid exposure by eating inside)–and they brought a little dessert with a candle out to our car. Oh boy, did that make us cry! Covid has been so hard and my husband had basically given up on our French food tradition for his birthday before I found this place. Not only was the food great but the staff took the time to make the night special despite the odd circumstances. We will definitely be back.

Our first time here and it was “Really Good”. The entire evening was awesome starting with the greeting from the waitress/hostess and the owner/chef. The sauces were the highlight. It took this place being in business for 43 years before we finally found it, and we will be back soon. Well done!
