Reviews
– la mure tart (bright blue berry flavors, not too sweet and honestly quite enjoyable despite the bright blue color)
– lovers passion (i love the tart mouse with strong passion fruit flavor)
– paris brest (mainly vanilla creme and cookie with a chocolate glaze – my least favorite)
I also had the frappe drink which was okay.
I don’t recommend it and I won’t be back. I ordered a spinach pie and they heated it up in a microwave — what a sin! With a proper oven or at least warming it correctly, it would have been so much better. Put some effort into the service, because otherwise customers won’t return. Such a shame for a place with potential.
The pastries were nothing short of exceptional. The crème brûlée was beautifully crafted with a perfectly caramelized top that gave way to a smooth, rich custard—easily one of the best I’ve had. The French choux pastries were equally impressive, light and airy with just the right amount of sweetness. Every bite reflected genuine craftsmanship and attention to detail.
What truly elevated the experience, though, was the customer service. We were served by Jon, whose kindness and professionalism left a lasting impression. He was patient, personable, and incredibly welcoming—especially toward my kids, which made the visit even more memorable. It’s rare to find a patisserie where the quality of service matches the quality of the pastries, but Le French Patisserie delivers both seamlessly.
Overall, this is a place where excellent food, thoughtful service, and a lovely neighborhood setting come together perfectly. Highly recommended for families, pastry lovers, or anyone looking to enjoy a bit of French comfort in the heart of Chicago.
Le French Patisserie’s desserts are very eye pleasing- each of them are elegant and photogenic.
Food: 4/5. I grabbed the La Mure Tart which is a blueberry centric tart. The confit was delicious and refreshing, pairing well with the yogurt creme. The dasquoise however felt a little bland compared to the blueberry yogurt cake in the center. The tart crust itself was as expected. I grabbed more desserts to go so will update with those taste profiles as well.
Atmosphere: It’s got a sleek feel as you step inside, with all white marble flooring and walls with gold accents. The seating is pretty much limited to small tables of two so if traveling in a group there’s not a very likely chance you’ll all be able to sit together.
Serving: Nikolas was my server and he quickly explained all the options and was helpful as could be. My only complaint with the service would be the utensils offered. The plastic forks, though pretty in gold is not reinforced enough to cut into the tart. Halfway through it snapped in half and flipped the tart onto me Nor was there any knife to cut into it which made eating difficult.
In short… great, pretty for pictures, but would recommend taking home to eat in the comfort of your own home.
