So for $84 a person, I would expect to walk out of a restaurant satisfied and raving. This place was just ok. It was our anniversary. So we decided to head to Chateau Élan for the wknd. Upon making our hotel reservation, the agent recommended this place. It was ‘fine dining.’ Upon entering the hotel, the valet mentioned a few of the on-property restaurants. I mentioned that we had reservations at Le Clos. I should have known by his reaction that we should have cancelled. He just got quiet but then he recovered by saying “I have heard that for fine dining that you get a lot of food.” Well that was a lie….

First the restaurant is too dark. Second we were the only people in the restaurant. Third the menu is a price fuze menu. For $84 po you get 5 courses. Those were the smallest courses I have ever seen and experienced. The food tasted ok. Again for the price, I should have left highly impressed. Rather we were underwhelmed and wondered how we spent so much to get so little. We kept hoping for bigger portion particularly with the entree, but hat never happened.

The food was definitely different. Rabbit pate, Tuna carpaccio with fried pork skins, beef loin with beet sauce.

Unless the restaurant changes, we won’t go back and definitely cannot recommend.
