Walking into Le Chocolat du Bouchard in downtown Naperville feels like entering a charming French patisserie mixed with a cozy café and chocolate boutique all in one. The atmosphere is warm and inviting, with an elegant yet relaxed vibe that makes it a perfect place to linger over something sweet or enjoy a casual dessert date. The display cases are filled with beautifully crafted chocolates, macarons, and pastries that catch your eye immediately, and the menu of hot chocolates and specialty espresso drinks adds to the indulgent experience. I tried one of their chocolate mousses and a hot chocolate flight…rich, decadent, and full of flavor..
though some treats leaned a bit sweeter than expected, which is worth keeping in mind if you prefer milder desserts.
Service was friendly and attentive, and the staff seemed genuinely excited to help with recommendations, which made the visit feel personal rather than rushed. The space has a lovely French-inspired charm, and I could see it being an especially fun spot for celebrations or just a special afternoon treat. Some visitors note that portions and prices can feel a little steep, and a few reviews mention occasional slow service during busy times, but overall the rich desserts, inviting ambiance, and variety of chocolate offerings make it a standout in Naperville’s dessert scene.

I didn’t expect much from this chocolate shop, and I didn’t even noticed there was a chocolate shop on the street. Just randomly got this eclair, tasted so amazing. Recommend to people who wants a chocolate taste, but not too much seeet in it. It’s not like those defrosted cakes that the texture is more moisturized or even watery.

Le Chocolat du Bouchard is still, after all these years, one of my favorite places to indulge in something wonderful.

What began in my mind as a temple of decadent desserts has evolved beautifully. The Bistro now serves inspired French fare, Croque Monsieur and Madame, baked French onion soup, sweet and savory crêpes, and other thoughtfully prepared dishes. It’s no longer just about chocolate, though let’s be honest… the chocolate still reigns supreme.

This time I visited with a friend and her absolutely adorable 2.5-year-old — a tiny human with a very serious devotion to chocolate. Watching her delight in each bite might have been sweeter than the desserts themselves.

Elegant, cozy, timeless. A place that manages to feel both special and familiar at once. And yes, still a little dangerous for anyone who claims they’ll “just have one bite.” ✨

Cute chocolate and pastry shop. We tried chocolate mousse and rasperry tart. They were both nice but unfortunately sugar overpowered the rasperry taste. It is not just here in Le Chocolate du Bouchard, almost everywhere I eat there is insane amounts of sugar in food.

I had my baby shower at Le Chocolat this past weekend. It was a Bridgerton tea party theme. Everything was amazing, beautiful and stress free. The staff is super nice. Kim worked with me to plan the party. They gave me napkin, chargers, plates, water glass, flower choices; it was really fun being able to personalize the table setting to match what I was picturing. The upstairs looks gorgeous and perfect for the Bridgerton theme. The bakery was also amazing. They were really easy to work with and the cookies turned out super cute and tasty. All the sandwiches and desserts were delicious, the lemonade was delicious and the tea choices were awesome. I literally have no bad thing to say about my experience hosting my shower there. It’s my second baby so I wanted something hands off and stress free and that’s what I got. I didn’t need to provide anything. I did bring a welcome sign and some games to play but didn’t have to bring decorations because it’s already beautiful there.

I’ve been wanting to eat here a after having hot chocolate a few times, which is very good. I had the French onion soup and quiche Lorraine. The quiche has a flaky crust and it’s fresh and tasty. The side salad was also good. I like this little place. The service was prompt and they were nice. Will be back.

Our London themed bridal shower at Le Chocolat Du Bouchard was absolutely perfect! The room looked stunning and the food was delicious and fit our tea party theme to a tea…pun intended! The owner helped design and created a beautiful personal party favor for the day. Highly recommend for your next bridal or baby shower!

Have visited here on several occasions. The only ‘difficult’ part is making the choice of what chocolate(s) to get. There is a vast myriad of varieties of all kinds of chocolates to choose from (just a guess, but, I would wager that there are at least 50 different kinds!)

Additionally, the dine-in area is cozy and the staff are pleasantly attentive. They also accommodated a request for alternative seating arrangements, which was appreciated.

Wow!!! I wanted to get a gluten-free desert and saw this place. Amazing! 3 different gluten-free options were left, we got there 2 hours before closing. Got some goodies to bring home. Had our desserts in the restaurant. I can’t wait to go back. Their Cakes, chocolate mousse is amazing and caramel sooo good!
