The chicken curry and lobster salad were excellent. The duck appetizer had a lot of duck but wasn’t great. The profiteroles were the worst ever, very poor ice cream, stale pastry and thin sauce.
The restroom is incredibly bad like one you’d find in a cheap diner.
The atmosphere was strange. There was a guy on a laptop when we came in. Seems very local. Needs a refresh.
They don’t have a list of wines by the glass or describe them more than “Bordeaux” or “cote de Rhône”. So got charged $24/glass, not sure what it was.

Great food great service. I had the mahi mahi, the flavors danced! I also shared the endive salad, beet salad and duck appetizers. All we fantastic. Great drink menu as well.

It1s big and bold and buzzy and you will end up talking to the next table. Food is French bistro perfect. Large groups welcome. Wine lovers delighted.

What a delightful bistro, better than a comparable one we ate at in Paris recently. Excellent menu and we were happy with everything we ordered for lunch-corn soup, endive salad followed by moules frites, duck spring rolls, raspberry tart and sorbet trio. The spring rolls were crisp and full of duck meat. My mussels were sweet and plentiful in an excellent leek wine broth. The Sancerre and Negroni were good too. Pleasant service and a friendly decor made for a very enjoyable afternoon.

We visited this place for dinner and unfortunately had the worst service ever. There were only three tables occupied, yet we still had to wait to be seated and then again to receive the menu. At first, we were given the lunch menu, and it was only switched to the dinner menu after we asked. No one mentioned the specials of the day.

We also weren’t given individual plates for the bread (bread itself was actually pretty good). The pâté we ordered looked and tasted like it came straight from a can (and probably did). The halibut with truffle oil was dry, the top was overcooked and hard, and there was no trace of truffle oil. The crème brûlée was mediocre and oddly cold on the bottom.

Overall, a very disappointing experience.

I do not have the luck dinning here because they have a ‘no sportswear’ rule. While I respect each restaurant has it’s own rule, I do not find it necessary or appropriate for a corner restaurant which is supposed to be ‘cozy’ complying such a rule, not to mention the waitress already offered me a seat, then the owner came out stopped me from seating. It happened at 12pm, the restaurant was completely empty, and at this time of year half New Yorkers wear sportswear!

Impressed how big the servings were here. The endive salad and Thai mulles frites were both stand outs.

Great spot to grab a weekend lunch. Come hungry.

Overpriced! My halibut was $40. II’ve prepared better halibut at home and my friend said the same about her roasted chicken. Also, it was very loud, making it extremely difficult to have a conversation. If you’re eating alone, of course, there’s no problem. We, also, ordered sorbet for dessert, which was very good.

It’s a nice little French restaurant with top-notch service. The restaurant was very busy on Thursday for lunch, and I had to reserve a table ahead of time.

Overall an enjoyable time at Le Charlot. The service was a bit slow and quite loud indoors which we find typical with French restaurants. We enjoyed the appetizers more than the main courses, which we found to be a bit underwhelming. Overall a good restaurant for drinks and intimidate family meals.
