I had to come leave a review because Le Cafe did NOT disappoint!
The fish and shrimp Po’ Boy was absolutely amazing — perfectly seasoned, crispy on the outside, tender and juicy on the inside. You can tell they know what they’re doing in that kitchen.
And let’s talk about the bread… when I say FRESH, I mean poke it and it fluff right back up fresh! Soft, warm, and the perfect base for all that goodness.
The onion rings were cooked perfectly — golden, crispy, and not greasy at all. I do think the batter could use just a little more seasoning (either in the mix or right after it comes out the grease), but the texture was on point!
Now that HOMEMADE LEMONADE?? Whew! It topped the whole meal off. It was so good my drink was gone before my food even came out. Sweet, refreshing, and made just right.
Overall, 10/10. Felt welcomed from the start! Fresh food, great flavor, and I’ll definitely be back to Le Cafe!

Had the whole shrimp poboy and fries for the two of us. It was delicious! The shrimp were seasoned and cooked to perfection! The bread was so soft.

We were able to have lunch with y’all on Friday. We’ve been eating there every time we come to Lafayette from Texas. This was our first time since the new owners came on board. The food was awesome and tasted pretty much the same as before. I had fish and shrimp and my husband had fish and oysters both were perfectly cooked. And we both love the pasta salad, plus we both had enough to eat again Saturday night.

New ownership is a mess. The man who answers the phone is so rude. I ordered something I usually order here at nighttime and it was no trouble and a really good experience. Called for the same order when that man was there working during the day a few days later and he said they won’t make my order that way. I literally ordered it twice within days prior!!!! My dad recently passed and this was a favorite spot of his, I was going here often for memories sake. Never again!

This restaurant came highly recommended, so I decided to take my family for a late lunch after checking out a local boutique. Given the recommendation and Google reviews, I was looking forward to enjoying our meal. Unfortunately, the service and food was disappointing. A large man behind the counter was engrossed in his phone and seemed completely unfriendly, making it feel like we were unwelcome guests. Some of the other people behind the counter were watching videos on their phone and laughing.
Our food arrived in styrofoam containers and was simply placed on the table in front of us. The kids’ meals were handed to them in a white paper bag, as if we were supposed to take it to go instead of eating in. None of the food tasted fresh; it had the flavor of oil that had clearly been used for too long. The establishment felt like a dive, and not a pleasant one at that. We spent $80, which would have been better spent on four fish filet meals from McDonald’s for half the price. This place is a “No” for us.

The entire inside of the place consists of a few tables strewn closely together and nothing more.
The food is good and fresh made to order but very very VERY pricey! Lunch for 2 will cost $40 or more. I had the oysters and shrimp which was good.

Excellent authentic Cajun Food! You will not be disappointed with anything on the menu. Fried shrimp, fried fish, or even a salad. This place is the real deal!

This place has the best fried catfish I have ever had in my life! Always hot and fresh, always seasoned just right, and theres always more where that came from lol. The staff is friendly and the atmosphere, albeit intimate, is really nice.
