This is lovely bistro, elegant but modern decor. Service excellent with the right level of attention and very helpful explanation of the menu. Food excellent definitely try the boeuf noisette the specialty, cooked to perfection.

The best meal we had in Saumur. The steak was to die for. The rabbit starter was delicious and both the cheeseboard and the lemon vodka sorbet were top notch. Delicious bottle of red to accompany and we were two very happy diners. The staff were fab and spoke good English. A real little gem in the heart of Saumur.

Choice is unnecessary when the two options are as on point as they are here. I’ve seen menus with dozens of choices, none of which are the light this moth flies towards. The rump steak is about as good as this cut gets, and the assembly with the mushroom mustard and brown butter puts it over the top. Similarly, the walnut and orange make the decadent monkfish crudo as special as that birthday you had that you actually enjoyed. The desserts, too, are excellent. The chocolate mousse is as close to mine in quality and execution. The flan is the best I’ve ever had, though the promised kaffir lime got lost somewhere over the pacific. The syrup is as excellent as the crust. The appetisers are very good too. I’d like the terrine warmed to 30c, so the rabbit fat loosens the flavours to escape. France seems to love thin shaved raw courgette currently. It’s not winning me over, but the rest of the dish is splendid. The only let downs are the sides. This town has terrific levain naturale baguatte about 80m away. The chips are a little stale, and the vegetables diced too small to be effective or photogenic. But these are small quibbles around a wonderful meal. Great service from the family team and a room as pleasurable as a hug from your favourite aunt.

We enjoyed our dinner here ( apart from our friend who doesnt eat red meat and raw fish). The waiter was very kind, attentive and knowledgable. The starters and mains were delicious!

Frugal. Very narrow choice with either vegetables OR chips.Simple, basic, correct but nothing exceptional.
There are plenty of places in Saumur that offer more/better & more interesting/exciting menus.

A very simple and short menu, but the dishes are excellent. They seem to be fully booked most evenings so book in advance

Great staff, incredible food. Menu is very much quality over quantity in terms of selection ( there are only two mains to choose from). The beef was delicious alonside the rich butter sauce! Again, the staff were great and very helpful!

Amazing food. The menu is limited (choice of 2 starters and 2 mains) but they do these really well. Highly recommend if you’re in Saumur!

The best meal we have eaten in town. On arrival, we did our best to speak French, but Viktor was very welcoming and happy to speak to us in English. Our dog was fussed over (by staff and other customers). The food was all really well prepared, very fresh, and presented with care. Very tasty.
