Honestly it was so highly reviewed I was expecting a lot from the place. Unfortunately it was just fine, and not as cheap as people are saying for the value, I was disappointed. The food was good, but nothing special. What works for it is sitting on the terrace at sunset, you get an amazing view of the port bathed in pinks and oranges of the sky as you eat. We didn’t bother with the desserts there as we suspected it would he an added expense for something that wasn’t worth the price. We stuck to the seafood menu, so maybe where this place shines is the steak, but we didn’t try it.

This small bistrot with outdoor seating on Ile de Re has a limited menu compared to most American restaurants. However, the chef and team do very well with their dishes…main courses and desserts were very good. Service was great. The restaurant is situated off a bay and located near a marina and boat mooring area. It felt like we were in a seaside village.

Fun, bustling, vibrant place. Good for breakfast, lunch, dinner and late night drinks ! In fact drinks all the time. Lovely selection of wines by the glass and fabulous value champagne. The views of the harbour are gorgeous too!

Good location but not such a good taste.
Positive:
+ location is lively and cozy
+ the food looks good
Negative:
– the steak was not tender at all. It was as tight as a leather shoe sole
– the shrimps did not have much taste and were served with simple mayonnaise
We will not come again.

Had a lovely dinner here in a great spot just by the marina. Service was charming and a delicious champagne brand was available by the glass.
Mackerel salad to start and honey grilled squid with a red pepper puree and steak were enjoyed followed by a sharing* rum Baba which wa huge!
Only criticism would be that more options are on the specials board but if you eat outside you aren’t necessarily aware of it and due to QR code menu conversation on options with your waiter are few. A minor issue.

Julian deserves his own fan club. He was friendly, attentive, and had that rare gift of making us feel like the only table in the place. His colleagues… well, let’s just say they seemed to be going for the ‘efficient but grumpy chic’ vibe. A bit of a contrast next to Julian’s sunshine. Food was very good and sensibly priced!
