My son and I are in Trondheim for the first time in quite a while. We’d asked around for a nice place in the city centre where we could enjoy a proper steak dinner. Several people recommended a restaurant called Le Bistro, saying it was known for serving truly authentic French bistro cuisine — so naturally, we had to check it out.
I rang the restaurant to make sure they had dry-aged entrecôte available, and once that was confirmed, we arrived early on Friday evening. We were warmly welcomed and given a pleasant table for two by the window.
A friendly waiter greeted us, and we ordered two apéritifs before settling in to enjoy the dry-aged entrecôte. The meat was delicious. Mine was slightly overdone, but my son’s was cooked to perfection. The grilled broccolini and cherry tomatoes were excellent as well. The béarnaise sauce, however, was unfortunately too salty and a touch too sharp, which was a real shame. Still, we didn’t let that overshadow the steak, which was the true star of the evening.
All in all, it was a very enjoyable night out. We’ll be returning to try more — and hopefully next time everything will be spot on.

Very tasty food, Good place to taste Norway. I was there during busy evening, many guests around and much noice, but waitress still had time to smile.

Mussels were great. Plum and juicy and finally a different take on this classic dish.

The entrecôte was very tasty, cooked to perfection. The wine selection was impressive, and the sommelier was knowledgeable, providing recommendations that perfectly matched my dish and price range preferences.
The combination of great food, attentive service, and excellent wine made for a memorable evening. I highly recommend this restaurant for anyone looking for a fantastic dinner!

Fantastic place! The food was amazing. Although the price level is one of the higher ones, it reflects in the quality and authentic experience of the food. They have offer a concept you don’t find many other places in Trondheim.

We had a dinner at Le Bistro, booking in advance through their system, easy. We ordered duck and fish for the main course. They were delicious! I had HIMMELSTUND EPLECIDER for my drink and trust me it was good! For the dessert we had chocolate fondant, even it was possible to replace a raspberry sorbet with a vannila ice 🙂 Good service, generous portion so it was worth with the price we payed. Cozy place.

Super nice bistro in town and extreme friendly staff. We just had drinks before we heading to another restaurant for dinner. Well, the atmosphere is warm and lovely. If I were living in Trondheim, I will be visiting this bistro every night after work.

This is an excellent place, both food and wine of top notch quality. Can warmly recommend it! It does not stand back compared with excellent bistro restaurants in oslo (or in Paris for that sake), but also with sort of a nordic twist to it. Great value for money, large portions and high quality.
