The smoked chicken was flavorful and well done. The chimichurri fries were a bit overcooked and chibble-like, but still acceptable. I wasn’t a fan of the coleslaw or the green beans. The restaurant has a lively, energetic atmosphere and excellent service. It’s located right next to the old train station, with Taylor’s just across the street. I’d definitely eat here again, though I’d choose different sides next time.

The Real Deal is LBB Gastropub & Smokehouse which delivers some solid bbq and fun atmosphere.

Let’s kick it off with the service which was quick, fun staff, but lacked it referring options and recommending menu items. Overall food came out quick and seating on Sunday night happened quickly.

Next the atmosphere that delivered a great outdoor and indoor vibe with multiple garage doors that opening the inside to the outdoor. It was a nice outside and made for a cooler outside seating than inside seating. There is patio seating, indoor seating and bar seating and outdoor walk up bar type options too.

Now onto the main Event the Food! The St Louis Style Ribs were well flavored, good smoke, but not very tender 7/10. The Tri Tip Nachos were huge, solid guacamole, and fresh only issue I had was some of the tri Tip was dry or not tender 9/10. Kids grill cheese very cheesy good 9/10. Overall I think we might try it once more but the meats were lacking in tenderness and quality hopefully just an off night.

This place is ok. I was craving bbq but this just didn’t hit the mark. The best things we ordered was the garlic bread, chimmi church frys and the Alabama sando. The rest was just meh. My mom order the butcher style sandwich with brisket. The brisket was a little dry and had no favor. My husband ordered the dirty grilled cheese and again the pork was dry and really fatty. My daughter order the Mac and cheese with tri tip. She said the tri tip was the best part because the Mac and cheese had no flavor and was dry like regular noodles with absolutely no cheese it was gross. The potato salad is dry and had a weird flavor. Our waiter hardly came by our table and my husband had to go to the bar to get another drink and we waited a long time to pay. Also the sign as you came in said they were out of ribs but after we ordered we noticed the table next to us got an order of ribs.

I was in the area and stopped here as I was hungry but not super hungry. Ordered the special for the day which was a smoked chicken sandwich on grilled ciabatta with mozzarella, pesto, balsamic, heirloom tomatoes and arugula. The sandwich was very tasty with good smoke flavor but the chicken was a tad dry. The sauces helped with that but could be juicier. The fries lacked any crisp and could be fried one more time before service for that crispy texture they deserve. All in all the sandwich was a 4.3 but fries a 3.3.

This place is legit!!! Excellent smoked meats, high quality and delicious. I had the Vindicator Brat and hubby had the Cuban Sandwich. Wow!! Brat had amazing taste, nice snap, great mustard! Coleslaw is vinegar based and not very sweet which is EXACTLY how I love it. The Cuban Sandwich included ham AND pulled pork, off the charts! Highly recommend the chimichurri fries, they were outrageously good. For drinks had the Spice Apple Hard Cider and the Haka Hazy Ipa. Excellent wait staff and got lucky with immediate seating at 8pm ona Saturday night. Will be back next time we come through!

Always a good time, good beers, mixed drinks, the Tri Tip and shredded chicken are my favorite proteins. Caeser Salad and the Sandwich are my favorites. You can have beer while you wait if it’s busy there is drink order window behind the host.

Went in for lunch on a Friday and the place was hopping and we got there 30 minutes after it opened. Liked the vibe, service was good, and the staff were very friendly.

Grabbed a hazy ipa beer and a “Smoke on the Watermelon” cocktail (mezcal, triple sec, fresh watermelon juice, house made sweet and sour with tajin rimming the glass) .

For food we went with their St. Louis dry rubbed pork ribs, german potato salad and the Alabama Chicken Sandwich with chimichurri french fries. Food needs more seasoning to kick it up a notch. For example for the fries — just make some garlic fries and provide the chimichurri as a dipping sauce because you barely could taste it. It looked nice but flavor wasn’t there. If ordered again I’d ask for some sauce on the side.

The Alabama Chicken sandwich was good, nice cook, tasty flavors when you eat the chicken by itself. The bread, though tasty, was mellowing out the flavors in there. Maybe if open faced it would be punchier in flavor? I’d order this one again.

The ribs needed to go a little longer as they were chewy in texture. Took some home and will wrap in foil and see how they turn out cooked a little longer. Nice smoke flavor, dry rub was pretty normal.

The brisket is so tender and falls apart. Perfect for a sandwich or salad. Also, love that Alohawks on tap.

Around 2:00 PM we were seated and water was delivered promptly. After over 10 minutes of no service, had to ask the hostess where the waitress went.

She showed up shortly afterward and took our order and beer was delivered fairly promptly.

She came back after a bit to inform us they did not have any “half rack” ribs, but could supply 3 ribs if we ordered them with the sampler plate.

So, we ordered the 2 item sampler; ribs and chicken, which both were very good.

After a about another 15 minute gap of no service or follow up, had to go find the waitress, again, only to find: there she is, with another 5-6 staff chowing down – Oh, that’s why there wasn’t any half rack ribs.

Obviously more important for the staff to chow down and tell guests there aren’t any half rack ribs available.

Also, it sounded like a full blown construction site happening with grinding and whirling going on that was unbelievably loud.

This was our first, and last time.

Food was very good. I had the Cuban sandwich. We had to sit outside and the heaters were insufficient.
