Reviews
Lazy Dog is a solid choice for relaxed dining, with flavorful dishes and a nice selection of local craft beers. The menu puts a creative twist on classic bar food, making it easy to find something you’ll enjoy.
It does get very busy during events at LA Live, so service can slow down at peak times—but when things are calmer, the experience is much smoother.
Overall, a welcoming place to unwind, grab a drink, and enjoy a tasty meal. Definitely worth a try if you’re in the area!
I ordered the Cuban Sandwich with fries and a refreshing pineapple mojito. My wife got the soup and salad lunch special, which included a turkey club sandwich, and tots, tortilla soup, and a Hibiscus Margarita. Our aunt went with the bison burger and fries. We all left completely satisfied.
If you’re in the downtown area near the Convention Center or the Crypto AKA Syaple Center, I’d definitely recommend this place. The menu is large enough for any group, the atmosphere is family-friendly, service is good, and the prices are very reasonable.
He was attentive without ever being overbearing, always anticipating our needs and checking in at just the right moments. His upbeat personality and easy conversation made us feel like we were being hosted by a friend rather than just served by a waiter. It’s rare to come across someone who can balance professionalism with such natural charm, but he did it effortlessly.
It’s clear that Nicholas is a great asset to the team, and his passion for creating a positive experience for guests shines through in everything he does. We left not only satisfied with our delicious meal, but with the memory of a genuinely enjoyable interaction. We’ll absolutely be coming back—and hope to see him again!
I ended up coming back again later in the week and my server this time was Addy, who was also AWESOME. Same great energy, super attentive, and gave good recommendations. This place just has good people, great views and sat outside people watching this time.
The food is delicious, the atmosphere is warm, and I love the whole story behind the restaurant, it gives the place so much heart. Lazy Dog has officially won me over. Can’t wait to come back again and again or find more locations.
I will never come back here. It was such an awful experience from the very beginning.
When we walked in, the host seated us at a table for four, (we were three adults and one child) We asked to sit outside, and that part was fine. Everything seemed okay at first, but then they took forever to even take our order, and we were starving. The waitress with short hair took our order, but she didn’t seem to understand anything I was trying to say, which only made things take even longer.
After we finally managed to order, we waited again, and the food didn’t arrive until about 17 minutes later. I was already upset, and to make things worse, the girl who brought our food forgot the sauces.
We were not happy with the service. I didn’t know that the restaurant’s name, “Lazy Dog,” apparently also refers to lazy employees. I wanted a ribeye with bone, but the waitress told me they don’t have anything with bones. So my last option was ordering a “ribeye burger.” Somehow they don’t have ribeye steak, but they do have a “ribeye burger,” which makes no sense.
The burger itself was just “meh.” The bread was cold, the meat wasn’t hot, and the only good thing were the fries — and even then, they forgot the ketchup and sauces. I tried to get the waitress’s attention, but she was busy talking, taking other orders, and ignoring us. The host noticed this and tried to tell her, but she didn’t even look back, so she had to ask a buzzer to bring what we needed when it’s not his work.
There was also way too much ice in my sangria. It was already a bad experience, but it still got worse. A family with a dog sat next to us, and the dog started barking at our kid like it wanted to attack him — and the STAFF did absolutely nothing.
I went to the restroom to pee and leave ASAP, but the urinal was dirty, the floor was filthy, and the smell was awful. While I was peeing, a woman dressed like a man walked out of the toilet. I’m pretty sure she was an employee too because she was wearing the same uniform as the others. At that point, I was done. That was the final part of this whole nightmare.
I’m never coming back here.
