Delicious, authentic, freshly made, inexpensive. Incredible old world food and store, with actual mom and pop owners/ servers. Very warm friendly people, cozy. A delightful experience as much as a meal. Help keep this jewel of a place open. Try it!

I can’t stress enough how great this place is. The food is amazing and the owners are amazing. They treat you like you’ve known each other for years and I absolutely love that. You have to try their baklava, notably the Lebanese and coconut one. I look forward to every trip I take here.

Baklava was incredible. Tried all of them and tried them again at home since I bought a bunch. Hands down among the best baklava in the world. Owner was the nicest host. Beef shawarma was very good with fresh ingredients. Too bad I live hour and half away but will surely visit again.

I’d do six stars if I could! The gentleman that man’s the counter is amazing, very social and just an all around wholesome guy. I don’t recall the last time I got such a warm greeting when entering a business. The food was also EXCELLENT, I got a beef gyro and it was packed with so much flavor. I also tried the chocolate coconut backlava, another 10/10 easily. I’m 100% going back here and would recommend this place to anyone.

Been wanting to visit this spot since I stumbled across it in 2019 riding my MTB. I finally understand why, now, everyone I’ve met, has said it’s a must to stop here. I had a banterous exchange with Bosom(sp.?) , funny, wise and forward. Reminds me of my old boss! He made me a veggie wrap with Baba ganouj, tahini, kalamatas, onion, garlic, Parsley that was just what I needed. Topping it all off with 3 different baklavas which were a spiritual experience. Best baklava I’ve had in years! Bean and herb soup was hearty and I sat outside on the stone patio that’s a nice spot during these fall nights. All in all, I’m glad to have visited. Great food!

Stopped by Lazizah Bakery in the Yantic River area of Norwich, Connecticut for their garlic chicken sandwich, and it was a revelation! Despite passing by countless times, I’d never visited. Obsessed with trying it, I finally did and was delighted. The Village of Yantic and the bakery itself exude warmth and humor. Our sandwiches were scrumptious, and I can’t shake off thoughts of mine. Planning to recreate it at home soon! Also, stumbled upon an enchanting bridge nearby – a hidden gem in Connecticut.

The man I met is very kind and fun to talk to, he’s always happy to see you. The food is always excellent, my favorite of which is the baklava, which is always made perfectly The place is cozy and it’s clear that each food item is made with love, care, and passion. Don’t be deceived by the humble appearance of the store, it’s always a delicious treat.

This is THE BEST soup I’ve ever had in my entire life! I’m not sugar-coding at all (I absolutely don’t hold back when reviewing). Although the man serving may not flatter everyone who enters his shop, he’s genuine and the food is great! His wife is the chef. She’s super nice and extremely talented! 1 star taken off because the inside of the place is not pleasing at all but ya know, sometimes the best food come from places like these!
There are no indoor seating but plenty outside. I would’ve enjoyed sitting out there longer if it weren’t we hot today. Thank you for my Tai Chicken Soup! The photo does it nooo justice! I will be back for some very soon!!

This place is like the hidden gem of Norwich. Seriously I’m going to be sad when they retire because there’s nothing like it Everything I’ve ever ordered has been delicious. The coconut tia chicken soup, the chicken gyro’s, the watermelon/feta salad and oh Lord if you love deserts the peanut butter jelly cookies are heaven. The owners are the nicest people, never too busy to talk to you and make you feel appreciated like you’ve known them forever. Honestly I can’t say enough about this place it’s one of my favorites ever. Thank you guys for pouring so much love into your food and your customers.
