Only my 2nd pasty ever, but my wife insisted. I’m glad she did. Fast and friendly service and delicious food. I’m hooked. Next time we drive through MI, this will be a scheduled stop.

My first time trying a pasty and I honestly did not have high expectations as I had read they were pretty bland. Plus I was showing up about 15 minutes before closing so was also concerned I would get an old dried out. I got the smaller size with the brown gravy and I must say it was better than I expected. Quite tasty and not dried out at all. I would definitely get the gravy though it just adds to it. Very reasonable prices too.

Efficient service – not friendly but also not unfriendly. The pasty crust was soft and a little flaky – not dry or too thick. We got the garden veggie version. They’re definitely very hefty and filling! Would recommend for anyone passing through looking for a good veggie version alongside all the standard meat options!

While on a motorcycle trip through the Upper Peninsula of Michigan, I stopped at Lawry’s Pasty Shop for breakfast while staying in Marquette. I had the breakfast pasty which consisted of ham, egg, potato, and cheese filling. It was slightly smaller than their beef pasty but just right for me in the morning. Service was fast and friendly. My only constructive comment would be to also sell coffee.

My grandma owned a restaurant where they made pasties. These were very comparable- which says something, and the gravy delicious! Highly recommend as a stop on a road trip. We’re from out of town.

My first experience eating a pastie is that I have nothing else to compare to to know how this one rates against another. I wanted to try it due to a friend telling me it was a thing up here. I was not a fan, and neither was my wife. The crust was great. I just thought the filling of meat and potatoes was very bland. Added salt and the onion gravy, and it helped, but it was just not enough. It’s probably different for those who grew up eating them than someone from Southern Illinois, not knowing a difference. The shop is nice and orderly but only has 2 tables and a bar to sit at.

My husband and I were in Michigan for a vacation. We were told we had to try pasties – so we hit up this local spot in Marquette. Let’s break it down:
Environment – quaint, cute spot, clean
Staff – very friendly
Price – reasonable for the quantity of food
Pasty – the crust was very good, flaky and tasty. The filling was very bland. Mostly potatoes (shredded), with some beef (dry and bland)
Overall, we probably wouldn’t eat here again.

My friend really liked his beef pasty. I didn’t care for my garden pasty. Portions were large. We were full and my friend had leftovers. The staff was friendly and helpful.
