This was one of my favourite restaurants to go to;every week the name use to be Rubys soul food and it was sooo delicious every single time never did any of the food ever look like this! And for the price no discount or anything was offered due to it being 1hour or so before closing…Im not sure who took over but I can tell you Ruby not back there cooking up that mess it don’t even taste the same the recipes have definitely been changed! And the cook is careless with the way he handles the food to changing his gloves to working on machinery with the same gloves and then I seen him wrap all that food up as if he’s saving it for the next day…like that’s all garbage….the young lady at the register was very nice and welcoming and she was very understanding and accommodating with changing out the dry old food to something more worth eating!! Help is what is needed there sorry I couldn’t say anything else nice

A friend referred this place to me. I tried this restaurant against my better judgement. I ordered the green beans, dressing, Mac & cheese, and bake chicken. I ordered white meat. The server put dark meat in my order. I took it back. She said they were out of white meat.. duh!!! She should have told me this instead of assuming I was going to eat the dark meat. The green beans were EXTREMELY SALTY. if I didn’t have high blood pressure, I would surely had it if I had eaten them. Dressing was ok, Mac was decent, and that famous dark meat was replaced with rib tips without sauce.. oops, did I forget to mention, they were salty too. Anyway, my company ordered the turkey wings, they were so big, big like injected with steroids, the container wouldn’t close.. the gravy was running outside of the container. My friend said no way he was going to eat that and he didn’t. We wasted $60.00 on some food we couldn’t eat. I forgot to mention the turkey wing had noticable feathers on it. Last but not least, the little food I did eat, gave me serious indigestion and plenty of gas. No way will I revisit this place again. It was a party of 3, and we were all displeased with this food. In my opinion, this place is a NO for me.

It was my 2nd time going here and it wasn’t good. Just look at those chicken wings, and they were very greasy, barley fried. The rib tips were burnt and overcooked, like they had been sitting around for a few days. The cabbage green was awful, and the cornbread were stale. I wish I had taken pics of the whole containers. But I couldn’t get past the chicken wings. This is why we can’t support our own. That meal cost $51.00

Ruby’s is a small Soul Food Restaurant located 18348 Pulaski Road, in Country Club Hills. After the movie on Tuesday, my group decided to give Ruby’s a try for lunch. They serve breakfast and lunch/dinner, with several daily entree selections. They offer fish, pork, poultry, and beef dishes, as well as various sides. They also offer desserts and bottled, canned, and fountain beverages. The wait staff is very polite and friendly, and attentive to each customer, from my personal experience and observations. The restaurant is clean and table cloths laundered and white. The food is prepared daily, is fresh, not spicy or overly seasoned. I selected Turkey wings, red beans and rice, and collard greens, as my entree and sides. I enjoyed lemonade with my meal. There was enough to take leftovers for later, so their entrees are not skimpy! We liked it well enough to decide that we will visit again!

Ordered out. The food traveled well. I’m glad that the cook put foil on the bottom of my croquets, that helps them stay “crispy”.
Food was definitely good. Worth the money.
Salmon croquets were good. Cabbage was good, cornbread muffin was a plus. Mac and cheese was decent, feel like there was American Cheese in it? I’m not a big fan of American cheese other than that no complaints.
***decent sized portions, worth the money.

I have gone in the restaurant several times and the selections that I want, which are clearly reflected on the menu, they never have. I’m specifically speaking about the salmon croquettes. I have even called to see if they are on the menu before I go up there and they never have them. I also went up there one Sunday and chose baked beans only to be informed they weren’t serving them that day.
Just a little advice, if you have a menu, please make sure the selections on the menu are available to customers, or specify what days they will be available, or just take them off the menu if you don’t have them on a regular basis. It’s confusing and frustrating.

I been here twice since I visited Chicago. This place is so good. I just came back to visit and I definitely had to come back. The food is seasoned and soo good! The hospitality alone. I just love feeling welcomed, and the definitely make you feel welcomed.

Let me say this I am a firm believer that everybody can’t cook just because they have a restaurant or whatever. Now onto my food review of Lawrence Soul Food
1 Temperature-cold
2 Texture of the food -Dull , plain no color as if it was cooked
3 Taste -bland not giving me that soul food taste
4 Presentation – Dried out just thrown together no time or effort put into it
5 Customer Service – very nonchalant
6 Cleanliness -Not appealing at all y’all gotta do better .
My overall score for them was a 3 on a scale of 1-10
