I’ve become a regular at Lava, a place that has completely replaced my previous go-to, Sushi House, for all-you-can-eat sushi cravings. A few months ago, my fiancé and I were in the mood for sushi and heard that Lava, under new ownership, was now offering an all-you-can-eat menu. Formerly Ninja Star, this spot piqued our interest, so we decided to check it out.

From the moment we entered, we were impressed. The restaurant is impeccably clean, the staff was welcoming, and the atmosphere was inviting. The food itself was fresh and flavorful, with generous portions. What truly sets Lava apart, however, is the addition of Hibachi options on their all-you-can-eat menu—a thoughtful touch for those who aren’t solely interested in sushi. Whether you’re dining with someone who doesn’t eat fish or simply crave the grilled flavors of Hibachi, this menu offers something for everyone.

Personally, I enjoy ordering a variety of sashimi, classic rolls, and specialty rolls (the rainbow rolls are a favorite), but now I can also indulge in Hibachi steak and shrimp, paired with fried rice and vegetables, an ideal balance to satisfy diverse tastes. The Hibachi shrimp is always seasoned perfectly and cooked to perfection.

The service is outstanding as well. Nora and Jason have become familiar faces, always greeting us with warmth and attentiveness. It’s clear that Lava values its customers, and I couldn’t wait to share my experience. Whether you’re looking for a traditional Hibachi experience or a laid-back meal with a group, Lava offers both. This has now become my go-to destination for any sushi or Hibachi cravings. Thank you, Lava!

I recently visited Lava for the first time with my girlfriend and two friends. Our group frequently visits Sushi restaurants for our “weekly” cheat meals. Lava completely astounded us. From the service, to the atmosphere, and obviously the food…everything was a 10/10. As I have read in other reviews, this place has completely changed my go to all you can eat place from the place across the street to here. Having been to probably 100 sushi restaurants around the world, I can confidently say that Lava is at the top of that list. The menu for all you can eat is quiet comprehensive, and the kitchen side has some options including general Tso’s Chicken and Crab Rangoon which I have never seen on an all you can eat menu before. If you haven’t been here, RUN don’t walk to come try it.

We really liked it. We did the all you can eat. It’s a little pricey so bring your appetite. All the sushi tasted fresh and was well made and presented. The staff was friendly though hard to understand. The decor was bold and interesting.

The absolute best!!! We thought it might be “too good to be true” but we were wrong. It was delicious, the sushi was so fresh and the quality was 10/10. Even though we didn’t sit at a hibachi table, we were still able to order and enjoyed everything! The price is reasonable for all the sushi and hibachi we ordered. Service and food were so fast for a Friday night. Thank you to everyone at Lava! We will definitely be back!

Staff was super friendly! Super cute and clean place.
They were on top of getting drinks when we needed, they give you water automaticly and kept them filed.
All you can eat hibachi and sushi, but they also have hibachi were they cook in fount of you.
If you’re picky and only like deep fried sushi they only have one roll that is very basic with crab meet and cream cheese.

Terrible service never going again.

They kept missing out food, giving us other orders we didn’t request, and were waiting for more than an hour to be served from 4:30pm and was stuck until almost 8pm. We tried to ask where our food was countless times and we got barely any of our food. Our tab was huge of “what we ordered” but we were only served once, when we ordered rounds of food. We left hungry and waiting for no reason. The didn’t offer any compensation for having us wait while everyone who came after us got all they food they ordered while we waited over an hour. Then they told us that we reached 2 hours and can’t be served yet we waited just as long to get the bare minimum of food. What a let down. And telling us we were in the wrong is wild when we’re the ones who patiently waited for more than an hour. We always tip BIG wherever we go and we did not tip. It was awful, we ended up getting dinner at home bc it just felt like a waste of 70$.

Lesson learned.

Never again.
