Cutting it. Tzatziki sauce was too thick. Every dish was bitter with not much flavor otherwise. Rice was undercooked while the gyro meat and falafel were over cooked. They got my pickup order wrong and when I called to let them
Know they insisted that everything was in the bag. But I took a photo. Either way, the process to receive a refund seemed too unsure or difficult for the staff member and I didn’t feel like going back to get it remade and was told picking it up another day may not be an option. Also, I was excited to try the drinks there and actually sit down and eat in but they had the bar closed all day because the bartender called out sick. I went on a Wednesday night around 6:40pm and it was dead.
Stopped in for lunch at Lava Bar. The staff was super nice and very accommodating. I read about the falafel being the best, so my mind was set on some falafel, but sadly, it was not available at the time. Settled on beef and lamb shawarma wrap that ultimately needed more seasoning. Was able to sub the fries for another side, so that was a plus, too. I will have to try it again to get a better feel for this very large and very nice-looking restaurant and bar.
During our visit, I was impressed by the vibrant ambiance, characterized by fiery hues reminiscent of lava, and the beautiful light fixtures that adorned the space. Upon arrival, we were warmly greeted by the hostess, Dest, who took the time to acquaint us with the establishment. Our server, Isabella, exhibited remarkable energy and attentiveness throughout our meal, providing excellent service and addressing any inquiries we had about the menu.
I ordered a Mojito, which was expertly crafted and among the best I’ve had in recent memory. I had the opportunity to meet Sarah, the talented mixologist responsible for this delightful concoction, who was both engaging and eager to share her experiences as a bartender.
For our meal, we opted for a gyro wrap and Shawarma chicken, both of which were delectable choices. I was pleased to find that the accompanying fries were served piping hot. As we explored the premises, it became evident that the establishment holds great promise. The hookah lounge, in particular, offered a cozy and inviting atmosphere, with a wide selection of options for enthusiasts.
The owner, Peter, took the time to chat with us, displaying a genuine interest in our feedback and suggestions. I envision this establishment becoming a popular destination for dining, drinks, dancing, or enjoying a leisurely hookah session. Despite the inclusion of a hookah lounge, the establishment remains family-friendly, with a separate area designated for hookah.
Conveniently located near the downtown area and WKU campus, this establishment is sure to attract a diverse range of patrons. Overall, my experience at this newly opened spot was nothing short of delightful, and I eagerly anticipate future visits. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND this spot!!
