Good food but not a standout. The beef was tender and flavorful and the soup had a nice tanginess to it. However it’s not that memorable compared to other Malaysian restaurants I’ve tried in New York. It was also noticeably pricier and the portion of the beef was tiny compared to the price. Service was also lackluster. The female server wasn’t that friendly and I had to ask for water refills. I think for the price it’s not worth it.

Everything tasted fresh and well-seasoned, and you could tell a lot of care went into the dishes. The flavors were bold but balanced, and nothing felt rushed or thrown together. The atmosphere was welcoming and the service was solid too. Overall, it was a great experience and I’d definitely recommend it if you’re looking to try Malaysian food or just want a good meal. Great date spot for me and my girlfriend!

We sat at the bar at Luat on a Friday evening, and the atmosphere was absolutely amazing. There were two of us, and we ordered quite a few dishes to share. We started with the Murtabak, which was perfectly crispy on the outside, soft on the inside, and had just the right amount of spice. Next was the Nyonya fries—super crispy and incredibly delicious. We finished with the soft shell crab curry, which was rich, flavorful, and had a well-balanced level of spiciness. We also ordered two drinks, which paired nicely with the food. Highly recommend coming with a group so you can order multiple dishes and share. Definitely a great spot for a fun night out. Ben, the bartender was so amazing 🙂

I got the curry laksa with shrimp. I liked it! The broth was rich and creamy, although more mildly flavored than I expected, and there was a nice amount of noodles. The tofu puffs soaked up the broth really well, turning into little sponges of broth that exploded in my mouth. I will say, I’ve had better shrimp, but it still went well with the dish. I do wish the bowl had more cucumber and mint though, and I would’ve also enjoyed a bit more spice, but it was a good dish overall. They gave me some complementary spring rolls too which was a nice touch!

I also really liked the atmosphere in here, the interior design is very cool and ties in well with the food. My server was very sweet and attentive, he did a wonderful job. I’d recommend this place if you’re in the area.

Every dish was super flavorful and scrumptious it’s the type of place you’ll want to revisit. The service was wonderful and the front lady was very lovely (if you ever see this, thank you for holding onto my nespresso bag )

It’s a small and popular spot so highly recommend making reservations esp on weekends

Made a reservation to ensure our spot, and good thing we did, cause it got packed within 20 minutes of opening during lunch hours on a Sunday. Upon entering, I was so impressed with the interior, gorgeous wall art, beautiful ceiling, and a small bar in the back corner.

The menu had so many exciting dishes. They were pricey but that’s expected in the city. We picked a bunch to have a full on family style meal. We ordered the roti canai, roti telur, ilat bakar (fish), duck curry, Singapore crispy soft shell chili crab, baby bok choi, Hainanese roast chicken with rice, Malaysian curry with shrimp and side of bao buns. The dishes started coming out one after another within short intervals. All the dishes were so amazing, huge portions, full of flavors. My favorite were the chili crab, duck, roti canai and the Thai iced tea. All of us were belly full as we throughly enjoyed all the dishes. We even had some leftovers to take home.

The service was good. Our server was so friendly. Empty dishes and plates were taken out quickly. We were able to take our sweet time dining in. Overall we had a delightful lunch experience here with our friends and kids.

What an amazing meal we had here and definitely plan on coming back! It’s not easy to find authentic and delicious Malaysian food and I thought the prices were super reasonable. We went during happy hour so the drinks were a bit cheaper than usual. The interior of the restaurant is really cute and cozy and I also enjoyed that the seats weren’t super squished together. We enjoyed the assam laksa and the hainanese chicken 🙂

We got the butter garlic crab to start, and the beef rendang and the Hakka crispy chili chicken for mains. I will say I was a little disappointed with the food quality. The beef was tough and the actually curry lacked salt and spice in my opinion. The crispy chilli chicken was very average and there was nothing unique or special about the dish. I also feel like the portions were quite small for the price. If you’re looking for a more flavorful experience for the same price, I’d go to Thai diner!

Nice spot for Singaporean/malaysian food. Their satay ayam (chicken) was delicious and was quite close to the flavors I’ve been used to from living in Singapore. Same can be said for the roti canai (although it had a slightly bitter aftertaste likely due to burnt/overcooked roti but it was still enjoyable). The ultimate curry laksa was too sweet to be considered authentic, and the sweetness unfortunately overwhelmed the other flavors that should’ve been prominent from a traditional laksa. Nice that they offer a wide variety of noodle choices for it. The haianese roast chicken rice was good, but I liked the aromatic chicken rice more than the chicken dish itself. The mamak mee goreng was decent, however too salty and missed some traditional flavor profiles expected with mee goreng. Ended up paying ~$150 for two appetizers, 3 mains, 2 drinks (Thai iced tea and jasmine tea) so definitely don’t expect Singaporean/malaysian prices. Overall worth it if you’re craving Malaysian flavors in nyc, it’s hard to come by.
