Philly is cheesesteaks. Problem of course, everyone and their mother has a restaurant that makes cheesesteaks or knows a place they swear by. LaSpada’s along the Wilmington-West Chester Pike (US 202) is more on the hole-in-the-wall local joint that does cheesesteaks as well as stuff like hoagies. Might be a little hard to find them as they are in the median between the northbound and southbound lanes of US 202 but they are situated in a small strip of shops. The inside of the store is a bit plain being more of a local place rather than an institution with a big draw and if all you want is a no-fuss cheesesteak, that likely is all you need.
The food is counter-served and you pick up your food in the same way as a sub shop and they serve many of the sandwich staples of the Philly area. I had a simple cheesesteak with Provolone and onions for my visit. The meat was nicely cooked and decently seasoned and the provolone worked well with the meat. The bread was had a nice bite with the steak and cheese and was definitely filling. Can’t say too much besides that as I just had a bag of chips and a drink with it; again, I just wanted a cheesesteak and nothing too fancy about it and LaSpada’s cheesesteaks work. Would I come back to try some other items including their hoagies? Very likely as I would like to try some made by a local restaurant.
So if you’re looking for a no-fuss place to get that cheesesteak itch scratched, LaSpada’s will help you with that.

My husband and I stopped here after working out. He got a cheesesteak with fried onions and provolone cheese, and a side of crab fries. I got the Italian special hoagie. Everything was so fresh and delicious. The customer service was wonderful!

“So many cheesesteaks out there” is an understatement of epic proportions. It’s less a culinary category and more a philosophical quandary. Each establishment, from the greasy spoon to the gourmet gastropub, presents its own unique interpretation of this hallowed sandwich, claiming theirs is the one true path to cheesesteak enlightenment. So when this reviewer says LaSpada’s cheesesteak is competitive that is very good.

Forget comparing their cheesesteak to others OUTSIDE of Philly, their cheesesteak can stand next to any top Philly spot and is just as good. Seeded rolls were amazing. Somehow only my first time here, but will certainly be back soon!

This is one of the best sandwich/ sub places around. The food is always great. They have one of the best meatball subs I’ve ever had. My wife loves the quality of the ingredients. Anytime I work in this area I stop here for myself and to bring food home to my family. Everyone gets fired up when I tell them I’m bring LaSpada’s home

Solid cheesesteak at a good price versus some newer places opening up. First time having their cheesesteaks today, tried Provolone on regular roll & seeded roll with cooper, both were solid.
Will definitely get cheesesteaks from here again, recommend if you are nearby and looking for a good quality cheesesteak

I was visiting Philly for a baseball tournament so I figured when in Rome. This is hands down the best Philly cheesesteak I’ve ever had! I got the regular with wiz. The meat was super tender and chopped into little bits. I’ve bookmarked this place so next time I’m within driving distance I would definitely make a pit stop
