$17 for two pastries and hot coffee is wild; it would be one thing for the pastries and coffee to then be good, but

1. the almond croissant was not cooked all the way through
2. the muffin was dry and comparable to a grocery store muffin
3. and the coffee downright worse than a gas station

Even if you’re close, I wouldn’t recommend.

La Salle Bakery absolutely saved the day for us. My best friend’s pregnant wife was craving apple and they came through in the best possible way with apple pies, apple fritters, apple danishes, apple everything you could imagine. Every single bite of everything we got was amazing. It was fresh, flavorful, and exactly what she was hoping for and more. It honestly made the whole moment even more special and memorable.
On top of that, the service was incredible. It was quick, very fast, and extremely friendly which made the whole experience nice and easy. Everyone was welcoming, helpful, and efficient, and we were in and out with exactly what we needed. If you are looking for a bakery that delivers both amazing food and great service, La Salle Bakery is absolutely the place to go.

Love the this bakery. A lil pricey, but worth it. Is not one of those bakeries where goods are a bit overpriced but what u get is meh…or ok at best. Staff is nice also. They’re great 10/10 highly recommend.

A bit of sticker shock for what I got, but after hearing so much about this bakery I was still excited to try my selections. The breakfast sandwich was ok and the service was good. I am not sure what I’m missing, but the pastries were simply awful. Worse than standard grocery store pastries. I’m honestly not sure what all the hype is about with this place, but that will be my first and last visit. There are quite a few quality bakeries in the area and this is sadly not one of them.

Stopped here after a visit to Rhode Island College. Wish I’d caught the name of the server. He was energetic and enthusiastic about his job. The cannolis and macaroons and large and delicious! So were the hot and cold chai lattes. ☕️

Both locations are dangerous especially when there’s a line… It can lead to ordering a Chocolate Covered Macaroon when you were dead set on just the Spinach Pie.

They make perfect picture cakes and my Boston family gives a mean side-eye if I show up without the Red Velvet cake.

The service is always friendly and you can watch Smith St traffic while enjoying a peaceful cup of coffee.

Solid bakery

LaSalle is a pretty solid bakery, but certainly not deserving of the many 5 or 2 star reviews found here on Google. I’d rate it 3.5 were that possible, but I’ll give it the extra half point because I just enjoyed my breakfast.

This morning I tried the chocolate croissant. It was flaky and a bit chewy, but in a good way. Certainly heavier than the real thing found across France, but good and not that dense when compared to some other available items. It contained a single bar of chocolate, though, which you will be hard pressed to see in the photos. It needs a second.

Speaking of other items that are dense, I also tried the cinnamon roll. That was heavy, and I loved it. A little chewy, great flavor. Not syrupy sweet or sticky, either.

Yesterday I also tried a premade turkey sandwich for lunch. It was fine, but not fantastic. It met my expectations, though, since I don’t expect a 5 star meal from a premade sandwich.

Overall I found the staff to be friendly and fast enough. There were plenty of people working both days, as well.

I recommend LaSalle, though I admit to not knowing any other bakeries since I’m only here for the weekend.

I was disappointed with the first La Salle bakery, because that was the one I usually went to. So I went to the one closer to the Smith Street location. I will say the customer service was so much better. They greeted me as soon as I walked in the door and we’re very polite. Sadly the sandwiches looked like this. LaSalle bakery had such high standards, smh ‍♂️

My family picked up an assortment of pastries, and they were so disappointing. It’s like Shaws/StopnShop quality. Too much sugar and just quality isn’t there.
