While I ate the Menudo, heavy on meat and hominy (which is a great thing) the rest of our party perused the menu and devoured many delicious delicacies. (By the way… best refried beans)
The waitstaff staff, 2 waitresses on a Thursday night, we’re friendly and very attentive. Even the other parties enjoying their selves, were exceptionally delightful.
Highly recommend for any time you want small, quaint, yummy, and fun in your eating experience.
I wish they served the salsa warm! But other than that, I highly recommend this place simply based off of service. They’re truly so wonderful.
enchiladas pablonas were 8/10
Chicken fajitas Diablas 9/10 (spicy)
Al pastor tacos 8/10
Staff 10/10
Not a typical tex-mex place. It’s inspired by food from Guadalajara, Jalisco. So while the dishes may all have familiar names, their preparation and seasoning is all like that from Jalisco.
Family and I came originally for breakfast and ordered a few different things in order to all share. It was great. The barbacoa and guisado were both delicious. The corn tortilla was a proper corn tortilla. Not the dry piece of cardboard you find just about everywhere. It almost tasted like flour and had that consistency.
The chilaquiles in red salsa were delicious and crispy. We had eggs over medium and they were done just as ordered. Coffee is serv d in cute little ceramic jars.
The beans are also done correctly for the region. Properly whipped and cooked. Not too burned and fried.
Was so good we ended up coming back for a late lunch / early dinner before leaving town. Did the same thing where we shared a couple plates. Tried the torta loca which had a few different meats in it and the tampiquena which is a nice cut of meat grilled (think fajita). This was cooked perfect. Not overly chewy or tough. Seasoned just with salt and pepper. Also washed this down with am horchata. Not too sweet. Tasted great and refreshing.
