Food is fresh an very good! Hearty portions. Chips and Salsa were delicious too. Not sure the next time I will be in TVF, but can certainly recommend without hesitation.

Okay, so we just ordered two family deals (15 tacos and 15 street tacos – a variety of steak, chicken, pork and ground beef) for two families to share (8 people total – 4 adults and 4 kids) and it was INCREDIBLE!!!!!! It was so much food (would easily serve 12 or more people). The food was fresh, homemade and delicious. I cannot stress enough how huge the portions were – two large portions of rice and refried beans were also included (barely made it through half of each container) plus two large tubs of salsa (barely made a ding in one), the most delicious salsa verde and guacamole, and two large bags of tortilla chips. We ordered from our hotel and went to pick up – they give you a number and then it’s a very easy drive up to the window to pick up. Seriously look no further than ordering from this restaurant. It was incredible! Super reasonable pricing – less than going out for fast food. Tons of leftovers for tomorrow. One thing to note – cutlery was not included. Walmart is almost in the same parking lot – we dipped in there to buy some disposable plates and cutlery for about $6.

Very good food, great staff, the interior shows wonder art and culture. My only negative part is just wish the portion of rice that they give was more, but is not just this Mexican restaurant is common in all the ones I visited. By far one the top 3 for this part of north dakota.

Just my review of take out for Carne Asada Fried. Pretty well seasoned. Good amount of meat and toppings.
The only thing, I would have loved spicier salsa and maybe more pico de gallo?

“I don’t know what the definition of happiness is, but I’ve never been unhappy at a Mexican restaurant!” Las Ranitas (the Little Frogs) has always been a favorite of mine. I often have just a chile relleno and a tamale, though plenty of other choices are tasty as well. Owner and staff are great folks and will treat you well.

My hubby, daughter and myself were visiting the Red Lake area and wanted real food. We prefer no chain restaurants because it seems family owned and operated just try harder and serve good food. Well this place is proof of that! Our server was extremely helpful when asked “What do you order from here?”. I ordered the Texas Fajitas and oh so good. Way too much for one to eat unless you have a huge appetite. Hubby had the the Chimichangas and my daughter had La Banderitas. Both were as good as the next! Honestly we’re now hooked. Whenever we go to Red Lake we’ll make the 1 hour trek to Thief River for this wonderful restaurant. Price was good too. We each had one drink and a dessert. Bill was ~$80 That’s pretty darn good when McDonalds can run $40-$50 easy for a family that upsizes and you don’t sit down to a DINNER.

I’ll be honest with you, it looks like a dump from the street, and when you’re walking in. Once you get inside it’s got an incredible old Mexican atmosphere. The staff are super friendly, and the food was authentic and delicious!! And very reasonably and fairly priced. We definitely will return.

Las Ranitas is the best Mexican restaurant in town. I don’t think I can choose which dish is my favorite, but I tend to go to the Arroz Con Pollo or the Ranchero Steak! The Beers are always cold and the atmosphere feels like you’re dining in Mexico. The staff is super friendly, I love this place!!
