One of my favorite places in Pocatello! Truly some of the best Mexican food I’ve ever had. I catered the sopes for my wedding reception and it was not only affordable but absolutely delicious. By the end of the night I had very little left! Huge hit. The staff is so friendly and every time we go the food is delicious and high quality!

My family and I really enjoy their food—pretty much everything we’ve ordered has been great, which is why we keep coming back.
The reason for my review is mainly based on customer service. The staff at the front counter, whether it’s the younger girls or the older boys, could really benefit from more customer service training. Interactions can feel awkward, and communication in both English and Spanish could improve.
That said, the food keeps us coming back, and I hope to see improvement in the service over time

I am not easily pleased when it comes to Mexican food, but this place checks all the boxes. Great, authentic food, monster portion sizes, and very reasonable prices. It wasn’t very spicy as-served, but they had great salsa to kick it up a bit. Definitely check out the aguas fresca!

Las Penitas is really good. I got the asada and pork tacos and I liked both meats a lot. They had a delicious salsa on top that when I go back, I’ll see if they can put more on because it was so delicious. The prices are really good you definitely should eat here. Don’t let the less than ideal atmosphere sway you it’s worth a visit.

I’m a regular customer at Las Peñitas, which is why this experience was especially disappointing. Today’s order did not meet the standard I’ve come to expect. The portion size was significantly smaller than usual—the tacos had very little meat compared to what they normally serve.
On top of that, the tacos usually come with two tortillas, but mine only had one. I also asked for extra sauce, yet even the regular portion was missing. We ordered three plates of tacos and received only one red sauce total.
This was not a good experience, and for a place I visit often, it was frustrating to receive such a careless order. I hope this was just an off day, but this time I was genuinely dissatisfied.

This place is AMAZINGLY good! I’ve been here several times, and I decided it was time to give them a review! I’d recommend Las Peñitas to anyone who likes Mexican food! I have never had a bad experience at Las Peñitas! The food here is consistently delicious and full of flavor. I had the carne asada super burrito today, and it was sooo good! 3 hours after eating that burrito, and I’m still full! The staff are friendly and quick, the restaurant is clean and has an authentic atmosphere to it! Food is prepared pretty quickly, and the prices are very reasonable!
They do get very busy at times, so keep that in mind when you decide to eat here. Don’t leave a bad review saying you had to wait forever for your food. It’s a popular place to eat and a lot of people come here!
I’ll continue coming back here. Try it for yourself!
