Coming from Texas it is so hard to get good Mexican food in BR and we have tried a few. The portion for what you pay is pretty good here. This places isn’t bad at all, well worth a try. The place is large with plenty of seating. Our waitress was really nice. My daughter loved her kids menu.

It’s not a 5 star michelin restaurant. They have hands down the best dish I have ever had. It’s called the Happy Plate. It’s a bed of Mexican rice with grilled onions, bell peppers, and your choice of protein(I always get steak) covered with white queso. It’s the dish that makes you happy!

Pretty good Tex Mex restaurant that’s reasonably priced for their portion sizes! I love how they have more than one option for dip when they bring out the complimentary chips and dips (most places only provide salsa with chips).

Ordered the tacos de carne asada and had great flavor! It comes with a green sauce on the side, and it has a very good kick so be mindful. Would definitely come back again because their menu is huge and has a lot to offer! I also like how spacious the restaurant is and offers an outdoor patio for dining. Great service too!!

Okay Mexican restaurant on highland road! The restaurant has many pictures painted on the wall – the pictures look pretty unique and it gives the restaurant a nice atmosphere you won’t see at other restaurant. I got a combo grill for two ($34.99) to share with a friend and I still had leftover for the next day. Yes, it was a big portion for me. The service could have been better though – why does all the staffs seem to say “I secretly don’t want to work here”? Anyway, it was a nice restaurant overall and I may come back for the atmosphere and try some other items.

I placed a pickup order on Sunday and my husband went inside to get it. Unfortunately, there was a miscommunication with the UberEats driver and our orders were switched. When we got home we realized part of our order was missing so I called to see if we could come back to pick up the remaining items.

From the moment the hostess, Maggie, answered the phone, she was abrasive and extremely rude. When I asked to speak with a manager, she told me the manager wasn’t there. I then asked for her name, and she began yelling profanity before hanging up on me.

I decided to drive back to the restaurant—not for any food or compensation—but simply to speak with the manager about my phone conversation, as I would want to know if this were my business. I learned that the manager was in fact there despite what I’d been told. When I asked to speak with the manager, Maggie rudely and loudly asked if I was “there for an apology.” I said no and asked the manager if we could speak privately, to which Maggie responded, “No, this is my workspace – y’all can go somewhere else.”

It’s disappointing to have such an unprofessional and disrespectful employee representing your restaurant. I am a frequent customer, but I won’t be returning as long as she’s employed there.

Highland road location, Absolutely horrible, told our waitress there was a roach crawling on our babies highchair and she said was it in the food or on the highchair it doesn’t matter if it’s on the highchair, After asked if I could speak to a manager, they said they’re not here right now and I asked who I could speak to and She said me and the assistant manager, and I said well who else can I talk to you since you obviously don’t care and she said I’ll let the Boss know To give you a call. Once I said, I will pay the bill once the boss calls me. She said what he said that that’s all you wanted anyway was a free bill absolutely not. That is horrible.. When we said it’s awful that you have food crawling all over a highchair that a baby is sitting at and you don’t care that you have roaches in your facility and she just said whatever and walked away from us.. don’t even get me started at all three styles in the women’s bathroom Was either broken or the water was leaking in our table Had disgusting paper towels, keeping it level

Preferred restaurant for this cuisine regarding food but the business needs to invest in high chairs for a safer kid friendly environment and experience

Wish I could rate a 3.5. We stopped here for lunch on a road trip and there was plenty of seating. Our server was attentive and timely. There are options for everyone here. The redfish came out on a platter (like fajitas) so the vegetables were awesome but the fish could have been a bit more fresh tasting. My husband had the El Perfecto which consisted of several beef items, and he liked it fine. Overall, this was a good road trip stop, but some flavor expected from Tex Mex style foods was lacking.

For those taking Covid safety precautions: we were happy with the space between parties as it wasn’t busy at the time. However, none of the staff were masked.

When eating out in Baton Rouge, safety is a big concern, basically you don’t want to get murdered, especially when youre hungry. Come to think of it, you wouldn’t want to get murdered full either, that’s what makes this a great location. You don’t feel like you’re going to get murdered. Big plus. Deep breath and relax. Las Palmas has the most unique pepper shakers I’ve ever seen. Not sure who or what you’d need pepper for at a Mexican place, but here they are. I’d love to hear the story of why they need spring loaded caps to keep the pepper in the shakers….what happened? I really enjoyed the design on the table. Sweet tea was good. Service was fast and pleasant.
