Reviews
The service was friendly and attentive. The prices are very reasonable.
My shredded chicken nachos were tasty and generously sized. The onions on the street taco seemed to have come directly from the refrigerator, which upset the temperature balance of the taco. I ended up removing most of them. If room-temperature onions had been used it would have been much better.
Las Palmas Mexican Restaurant is a delightful culinary oasis that offers a truly authentic Mexican dining experience. Tucked away in a bustling part of the city, this restaurant is a haven for food lovers seeking to explore the rich and diverse flavors of Mexican cuisine.
The moment you step into Las Palmas, you are greeted with a warm, vibrant atmosphere that is reminiscent of a traditional Mexican hacienda. The decor is a charming blend of rustic and colorful elements, with beautiful murals and pottery that add to the authenticity of the place.
The menu at Las Palmas is a gastronomic journey through Mexico. Each dish is thoughtfully prepared, showcasing the unique flavors and ingredients of various Mexican regions. From the zesty seafood enchiladas to the hearty carne asada, every dish is a flavorful masterpiece.
The star of the show for me was the Chile Relleno. The poblano pepper was perfectly roasted, stuffed with a generous amount of cheese, and bathed in a savory tomato sauce. The combination of the mild heat from the pepper, the creaminess of the cheese, and the tanginess of the sauce was simply divine.
The drinks menu at Las Palmas is equally impressive, featuring a wide range of Mexican beers, wines, and an extensive selection of tequilas. Their margaritas are a must-try, perfectly balanced, and served with a refreshing slice of lime.
The service at Las Palmas is exceptional. The staff is friendly, attentive, and well-versed in the menu. They are more than willing to explain the dishes, offer recommendations, and cater to any dietary preferences.
In terms of value, Las Palmas offers a high-quality dining experience at a fair price. The portions are generous, ensuring you leave satisfied, and the quality of the ingredients shines through in every dish.
In conclusion, Las Palmas Mexican Restaurant is a must-visit for anyone craving an authentic Mexican dining experience. With its inviting atmosphere, delectable food, and top-notch service, it’s a place that will leave you yearning for more. Whether you’re a seasoned lover of Mexican cuisine or a first-time explorer, Las Palmas is sure to delight.
We travel so much for work and found this place and could not be happier! The staff was amazing, friendly and so attentive. The food was quick, cooked to perfection, plated wonderfully, and the portions were just right. The margaritas were tasty and strong. The biggest cherry on top is how insanely clean this restaurant is. It’s spotless at every turn. If you are around the area and want Mexican this is your place. We liked it so much I’m leaving a review which I almost never do lol.
On a Friday evening my wife said “Did you know there’s a new Mexican restaurant?”. I said “nnooOOO!” Let’s go!
Taking over what used to be Backyard Burgers, Las Palmas is exactly what this building needed. Having no idea what we were walking into, we were greeted and seated immediately.
The décor is what I’m suddenly going to call Comfortable Mexican. Some Mexican places are colorful and bright and visibly noisy. Las Palmas doesn’t over-do the décor, instead settling for accent décor. It’s simple and subtle. (and I’m done using the word ‘décor’.)
It’s been a while since we’ve eaten at Backyard Burgers so I can’t say for sure whether the furniture was updated or not, but I seem to remember it was all tables. Las Palmas is tables and comfortable booths.
Our server met us in about 2 minutes with chips and salsa (VERY good salsa I might add). He took our drink and meal orders and *whooosh* away he went.
The drink menu covered all the basics nicely, with a couple custom items thrown in there. The drinks were very reasonably priced, although we just had iced tea.
The menu at Las Palmas is very right-sized. Some Mexican menus are enormous, and that’s ok because I love variety, but this menu made it easy to narrow down your dinner choice. I opted for the pork chile verde. The wife had a fajita quesadilla.
About ten minutes later our plates arrived and they were….umm…amazeballz. Hot food hot, and very nicely presented. I’ve eaten A LOT of pork chile verde and this is THE BEST I’ve ever had. The pork was cooked perfect and was still moist, while the chile verde had just the right amount of spice along with that unique tomatillo flavor. Oh, MAN, was that delicious!!
This Friday night they weren’t unreasonably busy so we weren’t feeling rushed or hurried. The food was coming out pretty steadily and the other diners looked like they were digging the scene as well. There is music, but it’s at a comfortable level, and there are a couple of screens in the dining area showing, I assume, Mexican sporting events.
Dinner for both of us was about $30, which was quite surprising (then again we didn’t have alcohol.) Still, it was a GREAT first visit and may very well become our #1 favorite local Mexican eatery….even though there are others close.
How much did we like? Enough to go back the very next Friday!
