I was excited to find this restaurant which is part of a chain that is my favorite place to eat, but I was fairly disappointed in my enchilada suprema. Perhaps it was an off night, but there wasn’t much cheese in the cheese enchiladas and the beans weren’t very flavorful.
The service was very friendly, but we were only checked on once and I wasn’t able to get a second drink. I probably didn’t need another Monday margarita anyhow
I probably won’t be going back to this Bangor location, but my daughter really enjoyed her steak so perhaps my local restaurant is just exceptional and this spot is the normal fare.

Excellent dining experience every time. Some colleagues and I have had to travel to Bangor for work many times lately and we have eaten here multiple times. The service is great and quick, employees are attentive but not overbearing. The place is clean. We have had many different dishes and we have yet to be disappointed by the food. It’s always hot, authentic, and delicious, regardless what we order. The complimentary chips and salsa before the meal are always great! Decent drink selection, highly recommend the frozen margaritas!

The food was great. Had the Special Fajitas and the Fiesta fries. Very very good compared to the many other Mexican restaurants I’ve been to. Too bad I live so far away.

This is a great place to go. Great food, great atmosphere great staff. Can’t beat the prices.
No, the food is spectacular. You get large portions. I think we sat down and we got our food in like six minutes after we placed our order which is impressive. In the food, oh my gosh, it’s the best you don’t need to go anywhere else for Mexican food oh boy it is so good. The food is hot and delicious. I can’t say enough about it. You guys did a great job stupendous job.

The food was decent. I’m from Texas where we do Mexican food the right way. I’ve been in Maine for 3 years and had given up on trying Mexican restaurants. My granddaughter recommended this place, who is also from Texas. The flavor of the food was good. Better than I’ve had here since moving but definitely not Southern Mexican food. I got the veggie enchiladas, which was basically a stack of corn tortillas with a plop of veggie mix and some kind of “gravy” salsa topping. The topping was very thick. I had never had enchiladas like this. They are usually rolled “wrapped” The flavor was good though. The rice and beans were decent.

Great choice for dinner!
While in Bangor, we decided to have Mexican food and chose Las Palapas as it wasn’t too far from our hotel. While it was busy, we were able to get a seat without a wait.
Server was very friendly, helpful and fast. Food came out very quickly.
I had an enchilada with shrimp and crab, with beans and rice on side, it was very tasty and large portion.

Amazingly authentic! The food was delicious and plentiful. The drinks (especially Margaritas) were huge and not watered down. The staff was incredibly friendly and attentive. In this area there are several Mexican restaurants but I have to stress how authentic Las Palapas is and how they take pride in their business. Will definitely return!

First time ever they didn’t get my order right . Been eating here for years. The mistake was immediately taken care of with a smile. Always great food and fast friendly service. Best quick stop on the trip going north or south!❤️
