I was just looking for some authentic Mexican food and I was GREATLY IMPRESSED. the service is amazing, the atmosphere was even more amazing. Our lovely server was kind enouh to sit us right next to the mariachi that was playing that me, my mother and grandmother enjoyed just as much as we enjoyed the food. The seafood is definitely the go to. But their other menu option are great too. I will be going again, muchas gracias!

Big huge restaurant and only 2 people eating during lunch time. Food tastes better than the lack of crows anticipated but could have been better. Service was mediocre, cucaracha shrim was good, but Cocktail Shrimp was sub par. The drink tasted like they used old oranges and old lime. The prices are very expensive for the quality of good service and ambiance.
The salsa and chips were very spicy but good

We had an amazing experience at Las Islas en Pochos in Vancouver. The food was incredible and the service was excellent from start to finish specially from Paulina.

The seafood was especially outstanding fresh, flavorful, and authentic. It truly reminded us of the amazing seafood from Nuevo Vallarta in Riviera Nayarit.

We’re so happy we found one of the best Mexican restaurants in the area.

Highly recommended!

Portions are huge !! Bring your appetite and some loose jeans because you will be leaving with a full belly. Food is really well seasoned and the waiting time wasn’t too bad. The drinks are also really good! They had a mariachi band when we arrived so that was pretty neat! Will be coming back again.

Admittedly, I was miffed when my husband brought me here. I was anticipating something different, I had never heard of this place, and it looked random. We step inside, and it looked like a pool hall transformed into a restaurant. Now, I am ashamed that I was so quick to judge.

The food was AMAZING. The flavors were rich and the portions were huge. The personnel were very friendly. The prices are a little high, but I understand why. A must- try!

We went for my 15 year old son’s birthday dinner, he had the crab and loved it! I had Carne asada and shrimp and it was delicious! Our waitress was so sweet, she brought my son a tasty dessert for his special day.

Maybe a year ago I see this dude that goes by Mexi Papa, who is often with Mark Weins in the SW and Mexico, go to Las Islas En Ponchos and put it on YouTube. Been on my list ever since. Since then, my expectation was that I was going to be head over heels like Tears for Fears for the shrimp empanadas with queso. They were delicious, however…

I did not imagine that I was going to eat the best crab I’ve ever had. The patas de jaiba has this butter garlic chili…just GOTdamn ridiculously tasty sauce with sliced red onions all over the plate. When you get a good chunk of crab out of there and spoon some of that sauce and onions on it, it’s just so damn satisfying. Best crab ever. Even better than BBQ versions I’ve had. I was so full that I only really tasted the fajitas that I got, which were absolutely awesome in their own right. I just didn’t have enough room and my wife also loves fajitas so that was a good take home anyway. The michelada was pretty standard and tasty, but the mangoneada was top notch. They use mango puree and blend it with ice and that’s what makes it great, rather than just using juice or some mix. Good dose of chamoy in and on the glass with a tajin rim..great drink that comes with or without alcohol. This place is largely a seafood restaurant in Nayarit fashion, a small Mexican state just north of Puerto Vallarta, but you can get this food on 4th Plain.

The band was supposed to start at 7:30, but didn’t start until 8 so I only caught the opening, but they’ve been advertising a band once a week on their Facebook page so keep an eye out if you care. It is LOUD in there though so be warned. And just because I feel like throwing something random in here and also because Linda Ronstadt has become popular again because of The Last of Us and her music brings back memories of my mother, many people don’t know that she is half Mexican and had a very successful career across the border. This is probably my favorite of hers from Mexico https://youtu.be/rJfXiOrK7t4, where they said she would never succeed and they would never accept her, but very much did.

Music , juke box I think is a little loud. Food was good. Service was okay. She didn’t check on us or anything. Seafood menu looked amazing. We just had fish tacos and they were good. Chicken too.

We stopped to eat here on our way to Portland because they offered el molcajete. It was not worth the hype. The molcajete was very acidic and was not worth the $40 we spent. It was not made with a “salsa picosa” but more of a tomato sauce. My husband took two bites and left the rest. Our server didn’t check up on us, and we had to ask 3 different times where the rice and beans were since they were forgotten.

Excellent service, 1st time I had Mexican seafood dish and it was bomb! I already told all my friends about it! Will be coming back. I would suggest they would do more advertising for the place because I liked and dont want to see it close down. Margaritas were excellent too.
