Social Profile:

Family owned tradition Mexican Restaurant serving the valley since 1958. With our large garden patio and hacienda style interior Las Casuelas Nuevas is the perfect spot to turn your celebration into a fiesta. Experience a Mexican getaway in the heart of Rancho Mirage. The tradition began in the 1900’s in the culturally rich city of Mazatlán, Mexico, where founder Florencio Del Delgado’s grandmother prepared sumptuous dishes and perfected classic Mexican recipes to share with and pass down to her children. That tradition lived on when founders Mary and her husband Del decided to open the Original Las Casuelas in 1958 serving family recipes that had been passed for generations.

Family-owned mini-chain serves Mexican food with an American spin in a bustling spot with a patio.

First time. Double thumbs up . Came because it was recommended. Atmosphere was great. Staff were very friendly and attentive. Crowded but didn’t feel it. Food came fast and hot. Fajitas very tasty (but definitely for one). Burrito was delicious. Ask for the “spicy salsa” . Will comeback again.

This was our initial visit here; it will not be our final one. The location is beautiful, and the property is remarkable. The food, however, is rather bland for my palate, possibly catering to local preferences. The clientele appears to be predominantly older groups, which is understandable given the region. Nonetheless, the experience was quite satisfactory.

Great service. Even though I didnt have a reservation, I was swiftly given a nice, quiet booth and served with grace and timeliness by a number of staff members. Tried a few different things, and all of it was good. Shredded beef burrito, cheese enchilada, and a delicious and crispy taquito. Excellent Mexican food and very reasonably priced.

Norma our server was awesome. She made menu recommendations and brought a huge smile too.
We were there for our 3rd wedding anniversary. The patio ambiance was perfect and food was so good. Huge portions. The ceviche appetizer was super tasty. We have already told others.

We have had dinner here multiple times on the patio surrounded by twinkle lights. The food is always good. Homemade guacamole prepared tableside is delicious and the margarita menu has something for everyone! And the service couldn’t be better!

I’ve been coming to Las Casuelas Nuevas for decades, which makes this visit especially disappointing.

It started with drinks — my girlfriend ordered a specific wine, but the house wine was brought out instead. Things went downhill from there. We ordered the fajitas, which arrived completely burned and overly charred. To make matters worse, our food was initially delivered to the wrong table.

Our tortilla soup arrived at the same time as the main course, and it was so salty it was inedible. When I politely told the waitress we couldn’t eat it, nothing was done — it wasn’t removed from the bill, nor was there any attempt to make it right.

The only bright spot was the salsa, which is honestly sad to say because I remember being genuinely excited to come here in the past. Unfortunately, this experience felt careless and poorly managed from start to finish.

For a restaurant with such a long history and reputation, this visit was a real letdown.

The building and patio are gorgeous! Service was great! Food was just ok. The tortilla chips were thick and hard. The salsa was spicy and they didn’t have a mild one. My husband ordered a combo, 2 Beef Tacos and 1 Chicken Enchilada. He liked it, but he gave me a taco and I thought the shell was very greasy. I have a cup of vegetable soup with meatballs. Was just ok. I’ve definitely had better Mexican Food. The atmosphere is what sells this place.

Ambience and decor is old world which I love. Spanish tile, ficus trees in the outdoor patio, fountains, exposed wood beams. Space heaters everywhere if needed. Very attentive staff and friendly without ruining your experience. Asked for extra limes and received a small plate full. Tableside guacamole prepared to your liking was a great suprise. Chile en Nogada was a great dish (never had it before, my pallette needed some salt, lime and salsa and it was next level). Presentation of dishes is top shelf. Chips and salsa are automatic. Everything you want in a non-modern Mexican restaurant experience. Refills came promptly. Reasonable pricing on top of it. Loved that hostesses wore traditional dresses. 200% recommendation!

We had a really wonderful meal at the restaurant last night. We brought in some guests from out of town and We’re impressed with the food and its portions and the wait staff. Everything was wonderful. The place was very very busy but we were able to be seated in five minutes because we made reservations and then we went to the casino right after that had a wonderful time.

We went for my Mom’s birthday with the family. We had an amazing time. It is kid friendly, food was absolutely amazing and the service was impeccable. Everything we ordered was delicious. I am originally from the desert but now live in Maryland. Anytime I visit the desert I always try to make time to come eat here.
