I visited twice during my visit to Gainesville. I preferred sitting on the higher level. I ordered the master fajita quesadilla both times. Both times I received attentive service, delicious food with great portion sizes. I enjoyed and will visit again if ever in the area.

Not only were the food and drinks amazing but so was the service! When we got there, the power was out. Regardless of that the wait staff was keeping everyone happy with some of the best margaritas I’ve ever had (just the house) and some AMAZING table side quac. When the power did com back on, the now full patio all ordered at the same time. To my surprise, food for the entire restaurant came extremely fast with no sacrifice in freshness and quality! The stream of customers kept them busy but even so staff was attentive and we had GREAT service. Food was authentic and on the same level as the authentic Texas Mexican restaurants. If you are looking for great food and drinks, authentic Mexican and a friendly attentive staff I HIGHLY RECOMMEND Las Carretas!!

Food was amazing, but I didn’t like the way server was rushing us in the end, it was 10:15 pm and resturant close at 11. So I didn’t find a reason for rushing us. I would say food was really good. Would definitely be back for the food .

It’s so cool to see a place that has been used so many times in the past and not make it be occupied by a Great Restaurant. The folks who are serving Mexican cuisine are really nice people. The food is fantastic and the quantity is enormous! The burrito master was spectacular. The chicken was tender and juicy. The nachos are huge. Very tasty and the chips are crisp. Caution on the salsas as they are very hot . The server was a kind and sweet as could be. Fun addition was a video running of them making the food Neat idea. I hope you enjoy it as much as we did. Gotta try the Huge Margaritas. Wow so good!

This is the best Mexican restaurant around!! Every Monday is a student discount and all the servers are so sweet! Pedro makes that best guacamole around! Our server Rum was amazing and kept the drinks coming whenever they were getting low! Great restaurant!

This is the best Mexican restaurant. I’ve eaten in within Gainesville. The experience was great. Even though the place was busy, the service was very fast. Multiple styles of seating area available. The attendants were very friendly and knowledgeable of the menu. The menu was fairly priced, with a wide variety of items. My favorite part was the drinks, which were pretty stylish, and the salsa bar.

First time here. I had the spicy margarita, you need the ‘medium’ size one . It was delicious; not overly spicy but enough spice to satisfy people who like spicy. For dinner, I had steak rancheros. Very good flavor. But the part that topped everything off was my server, Angelica! She was attentive and made sure everything was great. Great service! I will definitely be back when I’m in the area again.
