The young lady at the counter was pleasant and the older gentleman there was pleasant(opened the door for us, greeted us with a smile).
I found it strange that a burger joint did not have a burger combo or burger special of any kind.
We ordered a bacon cheeseburger, two chili dogs and an order of fries. The chili dogs were 6.40 each, for that I got a weiner, bun and chili, I had to beg for onions, I wanted mustard and relish on the dog, they have me little packets…
The hamburger was meh…
The fries were 3.60 and it was the smallest order of fries I have ever seen.
The problem was the cooks attitude..
He did not want to prepare the food the way I wanted it… the issue with the onions was silly and even though he put them on, he went overboard with it.
Photos included.
I will not return, I thought the good was a bit overpriced and did not like the cooks attitude.
If you’re looking for a solid, no-frills spot to grab a good burger or burrito, Larry’s Hamburgers delivers where it counts: the food.
Pros:
• Great burgers – Juicy, flavorful, and made fresh. Classic old-school style that hits the spot.
• Surprisingly good burritos – Not what you’d expect from a burger joint, but they’re filling and well-seasoned.
Cons:
• The outside appearance leaves a lot to be desired. The building is dirty, run-down, and clearly hasn’t had a pressure wash in years.
• It wouldn’t take much to clean it up. A little care and pride in the exterior would make a huge difference and show they take pride in the business overall.
Final thoughts:
The food is worth the stop, but the curb appeal might make you second-guess walking in. If they cleaned up the outside to match the quality of their food, Larry’s could easily go from a hidden gem to a local favorite.
Pressure wash exterior needed! Take care of your property.
This is a fabulous local favorite if you know what to order.
The burgers here are the best in the area.
Most of the items I’ve had here are more generous and wholesome than typical fast food joints. At most big chain fast food joints the food leave me feeling achy and lethargic. The burgers and sides here seem like healthier products because I feel fine after I eat here.
My family has been coming here for over 10 years.
I’ve had some menu items in the past that didn’t please me as much as others so, I’ll share my faves with you in case you want to try them on your first visit.
The Double Larry’s Burger is my usual order. It has the very best of everything to love in a burger including bacon, avocado and , tasty meat patties.
Also great are the Hawaiian burger (my daughter’s fave), Patty melt, and the Chicken strip meal which comes with fries and a salad.
The Colossal burger, San Francisco burger, Club sandwich and Fish burger are also good picks when in the mood.
The ranch dressing here is the best, best, best. It’s good on almost everything.
For sides the french fries are basic steak size fries and are okay (I usually prefer skinnier, saltier fries) but I do order these about half the time.
The onion rings are the tempura style which I don’t like (too greasy for me and most of the breading falls off) so I stay away from them.
The fried zuccini are crumb breaded and absolutely DELISH! (especially in the ranch)
I’d recommend a first timer try the Double Larry’s Burger with a side of Zucchini sticks and a couple pots of the ranch dressing.
They will do lettuce wrapped versions of their sandwiches if you ask. This is a nice thing for families with someone who has to stick to keto/paleo food.
Larry often works in the restaurant and has been very nice when we’ve chatted with him. The rest of the staff have always been nice too.
Only way into the parking lot is on eastbound Channel St.
Oh yeah not to mention now I gotta make sure my cards info wasn’t stolen. Who walks away out of sight and takes their timewith someone’s card? Unacceptable!
