We visited this place because it was highly hyped on social media. There was a queue during lunch time and we waited about 15 minutes for a table for four.

The menu is very simple, with only 4 pizzas available, and prices are very reasonable at €6 per pizza. The pizza was large, light, chewy, and tasted good. While it was enjoyable, it was not outstanding or “the best,” but definitely great value for money.

The restaurant was crowded, yet service was efficient — we waited less than 10 minutes for our pizzas. The staff worked hard and kept things moving smoothly. They do ask for a tip when settling the bill, and we were happy to tip given the effort and speed of service.

Overall, it is a decent spot that feels a bit overhyped. Not worth making a special trip for, but a good and affordable option if you’re already in the area.

Da Michele was top on our list of pizzas for a Napoli pizza, and we went there for the first meal after arrival in Naples. It was the thinest pizza we ever had like Rumali roti thin, and the best ever. Simple menu of 4 veg pizzas can create so magic is unbelievable , we went there total 3 times and the restaurant meets simplicity , yet epitome of taste and quality.

This was absolute delish .. warm welcome, simple 4 pizza menu that the best we could ever have !

Everything was perfect. We (a family of four) came there in the evening around 19:00 and we didn’t wait even a minute. There was a free table for us, we made a choice and in maybe 10 minutes as maximum we got our pizzas. The price is quite low, taking in consideration that they prepare their pizzas in the real oven. The atmosphere is perfect. Real Italian pizzeria.

L’Antica Pizzeria Da Michele is truly a historic treasure — and the pizza absolutely lives up to its legendary reputation. For just 6 euros, you get an incredible, delicious, and very filling pizza that captures the authentic taste of Naples. Simple, traditional, and unbelievably good!

I do have to mention one small downside: during my visit, takeaway was the only option, so I had to sit outside on a bench (and I was lucky there were even two benches available). No paper towels were provided either, which made things a bit less convenient.

Still, the quality of the pizza is undeniable, and the flavor makes it absolutely worth the visit. If you’re in Naples and want to try a true classic, Da Michele is a must — just be prepared for a takeaway experience! ✨

The food is classic in the best way—everything is kept simple, high-quality, and done properly. The service was exceptionally fast too. We also came at a non-touristy time, so we walked right in and sat wherever we wanted with no waiting.

Atmosphere is a solid 5/5 for me because it reminded me of my hometown and the traditional “lokanta” restaurants back home warm, honest, and comforting. If you’re coming to Napoli, this place really shouldn’t be missed.

Disappointed after the hype. Burnt pizza.

I really wanted to love this famous pizzeria, but my experience fell short.

The positive first: Contrary to the social media horror stories about hours-long queues, we were seated in about 10 minutes, which was a great start. The service was also genuinely nice and the waiter was passionate.

Unfortunately, the food was a letdown. My pizza arrived with nearly half of it completely burnt. While I hate to waste food, the charred parts were simply inedible. I’ve been traveling in Italy for 9 days and was hoping for a perfect final pizza to end my trip. It’s a huge disappointment when a place with such a legendary reputation serves a subpar product.

My two stars are for the efficient seating and the good service. I hope this was just an off day, but I cannot recommend based on my visit.

We went out of our way to try classic Italian pizza. We loved the crust and fresh ingredients, but our pizza had two leaves of basil and the staff wasn’t very welcoming. We ordered 3 pizzas for the four of us adults and felt like we had enough. The margherita pizza Overall, we’re glad we tried it but came away glad we have American pizza at home.

After almost one hour of waiting we managed to get inside as a group of 7 people.
The system is a bit confusing and we got there on the time when they were letting all the people out, cleaning the tables and only after letting all the people who are waiting in.
We got there around 15:30.
It’s not the ideal time.
If you are very hungry you have to consider the waiting.
There is a separate queue for the take away pizza.
It’s a bit difficult to talk with the staff managing the queue.
When you want to eat inside you have to ask for the number and tell the number of people dining in.
The wait inside for the pizza wasn’t long at all considering that we were taking 5 pizzas.
The atmosphere is nice and cozy.
Pizza was very good but not sure if it was great ale worth this wait.
We just went there as the place is famous.
In general we were happy about this experience.
The price was great too, very cheap for this famous place.

We came to this pizzeria following a recommendation. We had heard that Julia Roberts once ate here, so we decided to try the pizza ourselves.

we found a table quite quickly, which we really appreciated. The menu is very simple – only 4 types of pizza, all priced at €7, but the portions are quite large.

After ordering, the pizza arrived within a few minutes and it was excellent. The crust was very thin, and the tomato sauce was extremely tasty. Even though the pizza looks very large at first glance, it’s easy to eat and very enjoyable.

We 100% recommend this place and would definitely come back.

The only downside was at the end, when the waiters asked for tips a bit too insistently, even though the service was not something WOW.

Da Michelle, often mentioned as one of the most famous pizzerias in Naples, seems to attract big crowds, and even though there were a few empty tables inside, guests were still asked to wait in line. We waited like 10-15 minutes.
We ordered two Margherita pizzas, but the timing was strange – one arrived first, and the second only several minutes later, which I honestly don’t understand.
As for the pizza, the dough was good, though in some spots the bottom was a bit burnt and slightly bitter. On the positive side, the tomato base and cheese were excellent.
Overall, this place is fine, but it feels overrated for the quality it offers. There are many spots in Naples where you can find equally good or even better pizza with a more relaxed atmosphere. We paid €16.50 for two pizzas, one Coke, and two seating charges, which was good price for what we get. At the end, they reminded us the tip wasn’t included.
Da Michelle has potential, but the experience didn’t quite match the hype.
