The food is always good! Everytime that I have visited the chicken is fresh and hot! The sides are perfection as well. I often get the tender meal; the tenders are always made to order. The front staff always greets with a smile and the kitchen staff is friendly as well. Dining in has been a great experience with clean tables, and a friendly environment. Lanes will always be a go to when I am in town.

Every time I come back down South to visit, Lane’s Chicken & Seafood in Franklinton is a must for me, and I usually end up going more than once before I leave. There is something about the combination of great food and genuine hospitality that makes it feel familiar and comforting each time I walk through the door, and the staff is always welcoming and attentive.
One thing I really appreciate is the variety on the menu, because whether I am in the mood for fried chicken, catfish, shrimp, or a seafood combo plate, there are plenty of options to choose from along with classic Southern sides that complete the meal. The fried chicken is consistently seasoned well, crispy on the outside, and tender on the inside, and the catfish is always hot, fresh, and fried just right without being greasy. The portions are generous, the prices are fair, and the quality never disappoints. It is one of those local spots that truly represents good Southern cooking, and I look forward to it every time I am back home.

Lengthy: but this place is well worth it!!Really appreciate these guys Sat 1/17/26. After 3 we left our Aunt’s funeral and needed food. My first ever ordering /eating from here. There was difficulty hearing me on the phone but we got through that. We ordered 36 pc mixed, 12 tenders, 6 lg sides and 24 biscuits. I mean to tell you it was good, correct, in a timely manner and well presented when they helped us load it up. Stayed how and crispy until we got to where we were going with it. Everyone kept saying how good it was/ perfectly seasoned and asking where we got it from. So we told them Lane’s. Thank y’all again! Everything was great including the service.

First time at Lanes hubby has had a craving for chicken livers. Much to our surprise few places have them on their menus. The food was really good. The service warm and friendly. We tried several items fries, burger, chicken tenders, mashed potatoes, shrimp and chicken livers. Fries good and crispy, burger very good, chicken tenders actual tenderloins. The breading on all items was well seasoned and crispy. Hubby very pleased with chicken livers and took 2 more orders to go. We’ll definitely be back

Lanes Chicken & Seafood is one of my favorite stops in Franklinton! The chicken is crispy, the seafood is fresh, and everything is cooked with real Southern flavor. The staff is friendly and fast every single time. You can tell they take pride in what they do. If you’re anywhere near the area, this is a must-try!

Slowest kitchen I’ve ever seen, took 55 min to get a shrimp poboy. While the place was at half capacity, the shrimp were lightly seasoned and the fries frozen and not good.

Before: It’s okay, unfortunately..sometimes they forget to add the flavoring (or whatever) to the soda machine and woman behind counter seemed impatient.
After: Since reopening, the staff are much more attentive and seem way more polite. My soda was actually good and the tea wasn’t 3 days old!
I am now raising my stars. Good job!

Really enjoyed the Cajun chicken tenders, the fried okra and seasoned fries. The staff are friendly and the wait for food wasn’t bad. The chicken was fried perfectly in light crispy batter and went excellent with the Cajun sauce they offer.
Did not care for the shrimp poboy. The shrimp was fine, but the bread was hard and seemed squished. The fully dressed part of it was sparse at best.
Crawfish pie was nothing fancy, but it hit the spot.
Parking is very easy to get in and out of. Just a hop, skip and a jump from most everything in heart of Franklinton.
