Love this place, been twice this week. Wish I could make etouffee as good as their’s. Redfish on rice covered with etouffee- AWESOME. Fried fish on potato casserole covered with etouffee – hoo man ya!! Delicious chocolate cake for dessert! Great service both visits. Owner visited our table both times.

This place came highly recommended by a friend, Joey Blanchard. It’s a quaint family owned and operated restaurant that serves local comfort food quickly and with friendly and attentive service! There were so many food options available and the lunchtime clientele was comprised of local residents. Everyone knew everyone else there and it was packed! The food was fantastic, served quickly, unpretentious, and made with love! Everything we ordered was amazing! I ordered the lunch special of a 1/2 shrimp po’boy sandwich and the chicken and sausage gumbo. We also I had the gator bite appetizer, which was incredible! This little gem is one of the many best kept local secrets in the area! You just have to visit here! You won’t be disappointed!
Update (04/17/25): I paid a visit with my friend, Joey, again and as usual, everything was delicious and as was expected. For today, I had the Duck and Andouille sausage gumbo and red beans and rice with smoked sausage! These folks are consistent and put a lot of effort into their food and service! Our server was a nice young lady who was very friendly , efficient , and attentive!

Great food. Nice atmosphere friendly staff. My one complaint is that they didn’t have any alligator when we went there.

The service was excellent and attentive. The salad was fresh and super good dressing I ate every morsel! We also ordered the stuffed Jalapeño which were really good and not too spicy. I ordered the stuffed red fish. It was ok. Not my favorite but not bad. Hubs got the boiled shrimp…not deveined which always grosses me out but they were good and plenty of them for the price! They did have a full bar with decent cocktails.

For the price the food wasn’t great. The employees were very nice. There is plenty of parking for a big truck. I got the crawfish Etouffee.

Was quiet and only a few people there. Waitress was on me fast with a menu and asking about my drink choice. Asked for, and got, a RARE 20oz NY Strip, stuffed potato, a salad, and a Miller….was asked if I wanted a mug or a copy, and I thought that was cool…got the cozy, salad came with good greens and not just iceberg, and within ten minutes I had my perfectly cooked steak with grilled onions and the stuffed potato. Wasn’t a fan of the roll….i feel like it was deep fried or something similar, and the grease flavor wasn’t pleasant. Almost finished it all as it was a lot. For what I got, price was quite fair.

OMG The worst food ever. We ordered 4 entrees and 1 appetizer. The steak was too tough to eat. The fried shrimp was cooked in old oil. Fish was not completely cooked. The iced tea was so cloudy and tasted bad that I could not drink it. That should have given me a clue what the food would taste like. I ate here years ago and it was good. I should have followed the old rule; when there are few cars outside just keep on going. They did remove the steak from my bill but charged me for the plain potato that came with the entree because I ate part of the potato. WE WILL NEVER EAT THERE AGAIN. THEY SHOULD HAVE REFUNDED OUR ENTIRE MEAL, as no one could eat. One person in my party did get nauseous after we left. Very disappointed.

Over the years, this establishment has maintained and continued to provide good food and down to earth service. Recently, I’ve had the shrimp poboy, their hamburger, their fried shrimp, and some cold beers. The beer is cold, their onion rings are excellent, their burger is really good served on a bun, which really molds all the components well and is a bit different but also buttery and tasty. Their shrimp poboy was solid, as were the fried shrimp on a different date. Just had the fried alligator, which was delicious. Overall, you’re going to get a very chilly environment with lots of wood, some Cajun decor, some good food, and a very cold beer. You might need an extra layer if you get the chills easily. They aren’t afraid to keep it cool when it’s really hot out. This place can be nearly empty to very packed, so if you see only a few cars outside… that’s the time to stop in.
