We came in on 2/15,we drove from Kalona, never been before but thought we’d give it a try before we went shopping. Walked in there was a couple a head of us, we waited about 15-20min, the wait staff seemed to be struggling and stressed with the few tables they already had, we were briefly acknowledged and it seemed like staff was annoyed, guessing they were short staffed that day, then a large group came in after us, and the panicked looks got worse, my husband and I decided to leave cause it seemed like if we stayed it was going to be a disappointing meal and would take forever to get served and out of there at a decent time. We ended up driving to Iowa City to eat instead. We were disappointed cause the reviews looked good and I was craving a good breakfast.

My wife, daughter and I just had brunch here and its pretty awesome. I ordered the Ruben with tater tots. I came out stuffed full of meat and cheese with perfectly toasted eye bread. Id say 10/10 absolutely delicious. My wife and daughter had the buffet and everything was hot and fresh. Amber was our waitress and she was super sweet and nice. Very friendly atmosphere.

Excellent experience dining here for the first time. My husband had the western omelet. It was piping hot and stuffed full of ham,perfectly cooked peppers and onions and cheese. The hashbrowns were fresh and crispy. And the pancakes were hot and delicious! I opted for the boasted chicken. Wow was it amazing. Super juicy, flavorful and fresh as could be. I also had a side of tots that were crisp and paired well with their house made ranch! Can we now talk about the PIE! So many choices and all fresh! The staff were very friendly and attentive without smothering! We will definitely be back!

We showed up with 30 minutes left till closing with a large group of people. They provided excellent service with us and were very patient. Food was delicious. If I’m ever in the area I’ll be back. 11/10

The food was absolutely horrible took one bite of Philly sandwich and had to spit it out couldn’t chew the tasteless meat, nachos supreme was just dump a bunch of salad lettuce over it and liquid queso missing items boyfriend ordered tenderloin and it was over cooked on outside not fully cooked on inside.. had to keep asking for things because waitress didn’t write anything down. We just wanted to pay and leave but it was clear that we didn’t eat anything they insisted on doing something about it but there wasn’t anyone that could make decisions so we had to wait and we really just wanted to pay so we could leave asap. We were crammed in a small area off to the side with 4 tables and apparently that’s where they were seating people. The 2 girls working said they had complaints about the food that whole night… oh the cottage cheese was the only edible item at our table.

An absolute gem of a restaurant. The vibes are high end but the service is warm and down to earth. Good people running this place. The menu is so comprehensive they have liver and onions… The bar is clean and organized with the good TVs. There is truck parking! This is my second time here and it’s awesome. Advertise more with a bigger sign I say.
