I’m not often in this part of Ottawa but driving by Host India, I was suddenly craving Indian lunch. I arrived at 11:30am. And I always say that when you go to a buffet, it is best to be there when it starts. Very colorful and lovely calm atmosphere with lots of traditional Indian Art. Buffet has a large selection of salads and hot dish dishes. I loved the hot vegetable pakoras with toppings. There are many vegetarian curries and also beef,Rogan Josh ( my favorite lamb curry). Tandoori chicken and nans.

I came to Ottawa from Winnipeg to attend my teacher conference, and this was my first time in Ottawa. I searched on Google and found this restaurant highly recommended. The food quality was excellent, and the staff were very polite and disciplined. One girl who took our order was especially kind, polite, and professional. I would always recommend this restaurant. I love to try new Indian restaurant and I was in the neighborhood so I decided to stop and get dinner to go there. I specifically told the lady at the entrance that I love paneer, and don’t like spicy food. I told her that I usually get paneer masala and she said to take shai paneer since it is even less spicy so I thought I would give it a try. Well, ngl on a level of 5 spicy for me, that was a 4… I ate maybe 4 bites and I was done. I never had any issues at other restaurants so I assumed by telling her that it would be a less than “mild” spicy, but Nop. Plus, it’s spicy, taste line nothing else and maybe have 8 pieces of paneer in there with no veggie.. Also, one dish with rice and naan was 35$, way too much. Let me just say I am really disappointed in this place.

We decided to give this place a try and order in for a small meal. I have to say that my first thoughts are very positive. We ordered two pioneer dishes, which were both very very tasty. I like how much spice they use here and their non-bread is pretty Awesome. We had intended to order two pieces of none, but something happened with the ordering website and we ended up only ordering one. Double check to make sure you get the quantity you were hoping for. Not the mistake of the restaurant, if anything I would’ve loved more. I’m excited to see what else they have on the menu.

I have had take out and dine in here, and both experiences have been fantastic.
The food is delicious, the butter chicken is the best I have had in Ottawa.
The Naan bread was perfectly cooked and delicious. We have tried the regular Naan, the garlic, and the keema Naan, and all were amazing.
The samosas are very good. We have done the vegetable and the meat and both were very good. The red sauce was better with the meat samosa, and the green was so good with both.
The butter chicken is amazing, we also did the lamb madras. The madras was a medium spice and the lamb was very good. The butter chicken has all of the amazing flavors and the chicken was so good.
My service experience has been great with pick up and dine in. A friendly greeter/check out employee and our server was really good and attentive. There was lots of parking available when we went on Thursday.
I definitely recommend.

We’ve been eating Host India several times now, and today was the best. We went to their website and ordered online – much better than Uber Eats or Skip the Dishes. The food arrived packaged in hard plastic containers that had also been individually wrapped in a saran wrap – so no leaks. The Naan was wrapped in thick, good quality foil – so still very warm. The Aloo Tiki (potato patties) were very tasty. The Paneer Makhanwala, a staple every time we order) was spot on. We tried the Ginger Chicken for the first time and it already is some we know we will reorder again. The food was delivered on time. They have a very well-rudelivery service.
