We came here on a recommendation from a friend and we were not disappointed. Be aware that this is not a fancy eatin’ place with candles and expensive wine. You will hear the dice cup banging off the bar. However, the staff is super friendly, helpful, and accommodating. The service was super-fast.

I had the breaded perch with fries and my dining partner had cod with potato pancakes. Both were perfectly prepared and delicious. Potentially one of the best fish fries I ever had.

The Landmark has been added to my list of regular stops.

Best food I’ve had in a long time! Our waiter was Rick whom was an absolute joy! Very nice young man! I love going for fish frys and seen photos of reviews for this place. I don’t know why I waited so long to try it. We will definitely be back again!

The creamy chicken and rice soup was SO GOOD!!!! The homemade croutons were an awesome touch, and I highly recommend it! Hopefully they’ll have it again soon, because I would come back just for that! I also had the mushroom swiss burger special and it was very tasty. The bun it was on was fresh, nicely toasted, and the burger was cooked and seasoned perfectly. There was a good amount of mushrooms that made it all the better! When others said this place was a hidden gem, they weren’t kidding!

The potato pancakes were great! While waiting for our table, the bartender hustles and provides quick and excellent service. For the meal, the bread had too much butter for myself but I do understand many people prefer it that way. The fish was good as well. The issue was the service. We were seated in the bar area and the server didn’t come for a long time. This lead me to ask if I needed to order at the bar. It turns out we did have a server. The food also took awhile to arrive considering it’s fried food. Then my drink was empty for awhile before the server came to get me another one. I asked for water and the server forgot it so after awhile I went and asked for water from the bar. To his credit, the server did come back later, see the water and apologize for forgetting. I would recommend the fish fry but for take-out. Order a drink if your order isn’t ready when you go to pick it up.

Arrived at little after 6 on Friday night and was told ~45 min. for a table, or we could eat at the bar. We explained that we would cocktail it at the bar and wait patiently for a table. We ordered old-fashions, and they were DINOMITE. Very good cocktail. While sitting at the bar, I was observant. They pour their sodas from cans (no gun soda), and they bring their ice in from the store in bags. There is a decent selection or spirits, and tap beers as well. The bar is small, and there’s not many coolers.

This place is only open Tuesday – Friday (very odd), but I suspect it’s more of a hobby for the owners, rather than way of life. I like it. Makes things all the more unique!

Within 20 min., we were offered a high top in the bar room, but wife and I persisted and explained that we’d like to wait for a table / booth in the dining room (I believe there are only 6-7 tables in there).

In another 10-15 min., we were escorted to our booth. There’s a TV in the dining room, and the waiter was very, very nice. We were served quickly, and the food was very good.

Second round of cocktails was just as good as the first.

Breaded mushroom appetizer: Standard fare. Nothing to write home about here. These are your typical frozen breaded mushrooms from any restaurant supplier out there. Came with a small cup of ranch.

We both had the Haddock – mine with potato pancakes, and hers with the German potato salad.

The haddock was beer battered and deep fried. Not too greasy. Taste was very good, and there were three nice sized chunks. The tarter sauce was OK. Nothing special here / it did the trick. I prefer a breaded coating or Panko, but this was still much better than most beer battered fish fries I’ve had.

The potato pancakes were large, thick, and crispy. Very good recipe.

The German potato salad was not a hit with my wife. She and her family make their own. Understand that this dish can turn out many different ways, so it’s very subjective. This recipe definitely went overboard with the boiled eggs. She removed them as she ate, and there was quite a large pile of chopped up boiled egg whites when she was done. She did eat the rest though, so I assume others will like it.

Apple sauce could be dressed up with a little cinnamon, and the marble rye was buttered well and tasted good.

They offered a couple of very interesting desserts as well, but dinner filled us up.

I will be back. This is the type of place that don’t really care if you come back or not LOL. They’ll continue to do just fine. They have a loyal following, and do just fine.

Two fish fries, one appetizer, and two cocktails each was $85 with tip.

Check it out for yourself.

Small town, hole in the wall, hidden gem. Makes me feel like I’m back at home 🙂 Awesome staff and service and the fish fry is great! Also enjoy their apple cider old fashioneds and you can’t leave without getting at least one dessert. They’re all homemade and just like mom used to make 🙂 (pictured is caramel delight and oreo cake)

This “hole in the wall” bar is a must stop. I love visiting bars like this because of the community they provide. I was welcomed by the locals and had great conversation through my visit.
The area is out in the country and can be tricky to find. Once I arrived, there was plenty of street parking as well as a lot in the back The inside was charming with a vintage vibe. Drinks were strong and their menu is lengthy. I ordered a cup of the soup which was styled after the Reuben sandwich. The corned beef was excellent. The soup is creamy and flavorful. I have tried to stop by again but they are only open Tuesday through Thursday. I wish I had checked the menu it because the reviews online show a fish fry but I’m not sure if that’s available daily since they’re closed on Friday? I hope you find out soon!

Great food and service. If you come on a Friday night expect to wait 1.5hrs, BUT it’ll be worth it! The perch and potato pancakes were great!

The food was very good! And for the area prices were reasonable! Our waiter (forgot name) Friday night was friendly and gave great service and recommendations. We both had the fish fry, one haddock, one perch, and they were both great! This place is probably going be to become a staple to our nights out. It is a bit noisy, but that doesn’t bother us, just don’t expect a quiet night out. We will be back!

P.S. the flied pickles are amazing.
