Great place to enjoy dimsum and they have many kind of dim sum option. The service are not that great and the food is alright compare to other dimsum place I been to. There a hair in one of mine dimsum dish so I let the owner know and she took it ou and take a look at it. Then she think that it no a real hair. I should record video and send it to health department. So becareful before you eat so you not swallowing any hair . Overall , not great place for me to be back.

We came in from Chicago to meet with relatives for dim sum and to work on the family tree – find my roots project I am working on. The dim sum was as good as what we have in Chicago, a major Chinese hub in the Midwest and one of the few growing Chinatowns in the country. The roast duck was tasty and well done. The staff really friendly and helpful.

We were vacation in Orlando during Chinese New Year 2025 – Snake year. We thought to search for a good Chinese restaurant in Orlando. We were far from home, Vancouver, BC, as we are spoiled with good Chinese restaurant with many options.

We had an amazing dinner at Lam’s Garden in Orlando, FL. So good! . I am happy I made reservations in advance. The service was fantastic as the staff kept apologizing for the wait of the food as it was really busy evening. When the dishes arrived, it was hot and quite tasty. The decor is typical of traditional, old style, similar to many Chinese restaurants on Kingsway in Vancouver. They old us it was nice to speak with us my hubby can speak Cantonese fluently (not me). Near the end, one of the staff (could be the owner) gave us a complimentary alcohol drink which is super nice of him.

It was nice to see the receipt was hand written!

Lam’s Garden is the oldest Chinese restaurant in Central Florida and we were very lucky to dine at Lam’s Garden on one of busiest day in the year.

The food is very authentic and fresh. I had the best egg drop soup I’ve ever had from this place. The fried dumplings were great as well. I didn’t like the general tso chicken, but that’s because it had a different sauce than I’m used to. But the service was great and the staff is very, very friendly.

The absolute worst food I’ve ever had. Came last night and got Mongolian beef and general tso’s chicken. Entire place was empty, should’ve known. Both plates were left behind full. The chicken tasted like It went bad and the beef that was served was no where near Mongolian style and had the weirdest texture. The chicken that was served tasted that It had been sitting out all day and was going rotten by dinner time. My family and I left the entire plates of food there, paid and left to go eat somewhere else. This is no where near good Chinese food. Absolutely horrible. My water cup had black stuff floating in It and When I asked for another, same thing. Did not even take a sip due to concern for health. Like the cups had mold in them. We told the server the chicken tasted horrible and she made no effort whatsoever, just an “okay”. Could never even pay me to eat here again.

It’s been almost 2 years since we visited this establishment. my last review of this restaurant was sadly disappointing at the time because the restaurant just got so popular and so busy that they lost sight of customer delight. I’m happy that they survived through COVID to hopefully reset their customer focus.

That all said, we ventured in because Ming’s Court was closed on Thursdays which happens to be when we came into town for some Dim Sum. I was presently surprised that Lam’s Garden seems to have turned back to their customer centric service as well as really good Dim Sum.

I wouldn’t say it’s the greatest Dim Sum ever, or even in Orlando, but it was very accommodating for a Thursday afternoon lunch. The crowd was steady, but not too busy. cost and value was also delightful.

Good food and service. Not the best I have eaten. Has traditional dishes like Egg Foo Young, Lo Mein, Beef With Broccoli. But also exotic dishes such as Duck Feet, Stir Fried Snail, and Pork Chitterlings. They also have Dim Sum, which if I were to return that is all I would eat. They have different menus, and if you are Chinese you get one, if American another. And you need to ask for Dim Sum menu or you won’t get one. At least that was my experience. On weekends I was told they walk around with carts and you pick plates from cart which is traditional in many places.
Dim Sum prices were reasonable, but regular dishes were about $5.00 more than I usually pay at other places in the area. For instance, I had Moo Shu Pork, normally about $15.00, here it was $21.00. Not sure if I will be back. But if I do, it will probably be for Dim Sum.

They were rude when we first came in but later they were attentive and polite. Maybe of how much we ordered. It was dead when we came in. The dim sum was a hit or miss. Some items were really good like the pineapple bunS and others were tough. When they started serving is fresh steam dim sum, the food was much better. They make their noodles in house so definitely order some of that. The decor is outdated and the cleanliness of the place feels a bit grimy. But hey sometimes that’s an indicator of good food. I would give this place a 3.5 but since there no half stars I’m rounding up.

Nicely decorated dinning room, courteous host, excellent food, came out hot. Had a wonderful experience. Highly recommend. Two menus, the authentic Chinese and an American menu with two selections. Both are excellent. Start your meal with some tea.

We were visiting Orlando and decided to try this place for some good Chinese food, but unfortunately, it was a huge disappointment. First off, the dim sum we ordered didn’t taste fresh at all—they were clearly frozen. The shrimp dumplings had a terrible smell, and the shrimp inside seemed rotten. The short ribs were tough and hard to bite, and the steamed rice tasted like it had been sitting around for days. The rice noodle rolls were also poorly steamed, with visible white, solid parts that should not have been there. Despite all of this, the waitress seemed to think everything was perfectly fine. It’s hard to believe this place has a 4.0 rating. I won’t be coming back and this is, without a doubt, the worst dim sum I’ve had in the US.
