LAMPLIGHTER INN TAVERN & GRILLE is a family owned, neighborhood pub / bar located in the NW suburb of Palatine. We provide a friendly atmosphere that has been attracting customers since 1975. It is hard to visit ‘Lamps’ without running into someone you know. A full menu is served in our tavern, restaurant dining room, or for carry-out. A private party room is available for small or large groups. Enjoy live music, open mic night, karaoke, pub, bar, and beer garden.

Great local spot for pub food and drinks anytime a day. Lots of locals flock to this place making it feel more homey once you start getting to know people. Cheeseburger wrap is great! Staff is amazing even when it’s extra busy!

This is my opinion based on how much I like the fake dive bars, meaning they aren’t half as bad as they look? And this place doesn’t look bad.. but gives me the biker bar, towner, long stare crowd. Service is a little rude and on edge, but overall, clean enough, fair enough prices, location, etc.. solid 3-3.5 stars..

Came in on 3/7 after work for a beer. Bartender asks for my ID, I hand her a valid temporary ID (expires on 5/25). She says it’s been 3 weeks since I’ve got my replacement and they should ship my real license in 10 business days. I tell her I don’t have it. The license says the expiration date ON IT. She begins blabbering about how it’s her job to know this. I grab my ID and begin to walk out, not saying a word. She starts SCREAMING at me from behind like an absolute maniac. She was very angry. Unfortunately, very stupid as well. Funny to think I successfully applied for a passport with this same ID two days before. Can get a passport, but not a beer! Bizarre.

Food has always been good here. The pizza is one of the better options. They have a free pizza buffet on Fridays during happy hour. It can sometimes be challenging to get a drink at the bar when the local Otis’s pile in at all hours of the day.

The squirrel and his wife went there for lunch. The dining room wasn’t open sat in a bar area. The bar is a bar suitable for evening snacks and bar food. seating is very limited they don’t take reservations The food was good, not great, but good for the price.

They’ve kept the originality of the entire bar alive for many many decades which is very cool. Not just in major but in minor ways as well. However, it’s old school roots are nothing like the atmosphere inside. I got a Moscow mule with a plastic cup and the music was so loud you couldn’t hear your friend next to you.

Old school neighborhood bar and grill. Stopped in to watch the Hawks game. Just a few TVs, this is not a sport bar but they did the trick. Friendly staff and crowd cheap 23 oz special all the time for miller light also a good selection of crafts on tap. Menu is standard pub hub. They have darts and a Lord of Rings pinball machine.
