I’ve heard great things about this restaurant. I just think I need to come back and try lunch/dinner. The place is super cute and homey, its small but we walked right in and sat at a booth type table. The service was just OK. The two ladies helping us weren’t the friendliest and seemed annoyed when we asked about the menu. One of the women was super friendly with people we assumed were regulars, but as soon as she got to our table and another near us that demeanor was just gone. Our food came out quickly and looked great, my Mom really loved the pancakes and was overall happy with her food. We both thought the water tasted funny, I think it was the ice though. My breakfast burrito looked so great, but it had no flavor and it was so extremely greasy, my plate was shiny with grease and so were my hands and lips while eating it. It looked really promising, its just really needed some seasoning. I definitely want to come back when my husband gets home from deployment to try the lunch menu so I can give this place a fair shot. Thanks for the hot meals and comfy environment, we’ll be back!

Worst breakfast ever .. and I’m in my 70s… I was drawn in by the reviews of the sourdough pancakes. They were flat and chewy.. the only waitress acted like she would have rather been anywhere else the entire time we were there. Didn’t see a friendly interaction between her and anyone so I didn’t take it personally. When I mentioned I wasn’t crazy about the pancakes. She offered to get me something else, but when she said even the buttermilk pancakes were flat and chewy like the sourdough pancakes I got, I opted not to get anything else. She claimed those flat chewy pancakes were what they were famous for… My breakfast companion got the biscuits and gravy and I shared some of that. I was not impressed. The scrambled eggs were good, so didn’t leave entirely hungry, but definitely not satisfied.

The Eggs Benedict were excellent I loved them. The TexMex salad was excellent. The service was the best, besides the waitress who took our order there were 2 other waitresses making sure we were doing good. This was our second visit and we will continue to come here to eat and drink the excellent libations. Cheers

Came to have breakfast on a Wednesday morning. There was no wait but quickly filled up afterward around 10:00 a.m.. it took a while to have somebody take our order. We ordered the bacon plate, and the Lambert’s blenny, And got a short stack of buttermilk pancakes to share. The pancakes were really large and very thin. I thought they were very good. The bacon was a bit undercooked. The potatoes on both dishes were okay but I felt like they needed a little bit more seasoning. I was happy with my eggs benedict, it was a healthy serving of Hollandaise sauce. Some of the restaurant was a little on the dirty side. But they look like they have a lot of good items to choose from for lunch, so maybe coming back to try that. If you were interested. Ended up paying $53 for two of us.

FOOD: On this day I had the Lambert Benny’s (eggs benedict) with the optional country potatoes.
The eggs were prepared to my specifications (over medium, not runny) and the country potatoes were fresh, crispy on the outside and chewy in the middle. Exactly as you’d expect.
The hollandaise sauce was absolute perfection- creamy texture, complex flavor profile and a perfect compliment to the meal. 5/5 stars. This is my go to meal here.
SERVICE: Friendly staff, attentive, but not overly so. Place the coffee at the edge of the table when you want more, in front of you when you are good. On this day the service was on point. 5/5
ATMOSPHERE: Cool old timey cafe that is clean, has friendly patrons and has neat history due to the historic nature of the building. Indoor and outdoor seating is available.
CONCLUSION: This is a must go if you are in the Yuba-Sutter Area due to the mom & pop nature, cool building, good food that’s not too spendy and rather central location.

Nice spot for brunch in yuba. Very accommodating with the menu. Went with the entire family and everyone was easily able to pick out a dish of their choice with all their food restrictions. Veggie burger was delicious. I had the biscuit and gravy (half portion). It’s very rare that you can get the gravy meatless at places however they accommodated well. Fair warning, portions are large. Seating is limited on the inside but outdoor is available. Would recommend reservation for holidays like Mother’s Day. All in all my fav brunch spot in yuba city thus far.

I can agree with other posts….
The pancakes were very good if you like them on the thinner side(I do). The food was good. But there’s more to it than food to make a good restaurant. Like other posts mentioned the cooks were good but the service was not. To mention a few specifics, service took a while, no one asked to refill my coffee, waitress hardly acknowledged us. Little communication except with people she knew (we were outsiders). I did NOT get that warm friendly feeling there that some locals wrote about. Maybe we hit an off day for service.
Conclusion: first time there and we did not have a nice overall experience.

Ate here twice, first time it was a great experience, servers were attentive even though it was busy, got to sit outside because it was full inside (this is the norm due to the seating), food was delicious and fulfilling. Second time experience was worse unfortunately, sat inside and go attacked by flies, suggest don’t sit next to the window seatings. There were a-lot of flys inside this time unfortunately. servers were busy with catering to customers, which is expected and they were helping but food didn’t taste as good as the first time around, tasted and felt rushed.

Not sure what’s happened to this place but I’ve going to Lambert’s since it was Sundowner. The servers are rude and seem to think that it’s ok to not refill my drinks, not ask how we’re doing, check to see if the food is good or if we need anything else. We also waited 10 mins to sit down which isn’t bad but then had to wait 45 mins for an omelet and some tacos. Oh and don’t forget about constint flies buzzing in your face and on your food. The food finally came and just tasted mediocre at best. Will not be going again anytime soon unfortunately since I used to love this place and have been going there for the past 10 years.

First time there, biscuits and gravy was the best I ever had. Excellent service, I recently had hip replacement surgery and was having a hard time standing up and the owners husband was very kind and came to help me up. I will definitely be back. Huge portions!
