We ate at Lalbagh in Bourn last Thursday and chose the 7 course taster menu and it completely blew us away. Every single course was stunning, both visually and in flavour, and you could really tell how much thought, skill and care had gone into each dish. It felt like a real dining experience rather than just a meal.

The service was faultless. Warm, knowledgeable and perfectly timed, which made the whole evening feel relaxed and special. This is easily one of the best meals we have had in a very long time and we are already talking about when we can go back. Truly exceptional food and service and I would recommend it to anyone without hesitation.

Food was ok and not how i expected. I think service would and could have been better if they didn’t pester customer immediately for papadoms, even though I said give us 5mins and let me order. He came again in 30seconds asking if we wanted papadoms and i had to tell him again No. It was really awkward when me and Mrs walked in. Staffs went silent and was shocked to see us… I mean we are just customers and not vip. Too much starring by staffs as Mrs found it uncomfortable in their. Rogan josh was too thick and just taste like tomatoes only with thick gravy… rogan is meant to be abit sweet taste and is a curry and not a thick paste. Prawns were good. Starter was great.

Me & my freind was working in Cambridge and chose to eat at the Lalbagh. We can honestly say it was one of the best curry’s we have ever had, the staff recommended some cracking dishes and they were perfect. We had a great night and can’t praise this restaurant anymore. If you’re in the area, then give it a try, you won’t be disappointed.

Was looking forward to the Laal Maas dish however it fell rather short of expectations not even close to what i’ve had in India . To be fair it was not bad but the preparation was rather different possibly the Bangledeshi influence.
Apart from that my colleague did enjoy his lamb dish. Service was prompt and a pleasant place to dine.

Came here for my birthday meal with my wife and family. As soon as we walked in they were so warm and welcoming. Clean beautiful area, very spacious. Decoration cultural and colourful. Everyone was very sweet and smiley.

The onion bajis were very tasty, poppadoms with a variety of pickles and chutneys, chicken shashlik very tender and juicy, chciken tikka birya very tasty, chicken kadai very tender and sweet and savoury just perfect. My favourite has to be the mutton ghust, soft, tender, fell off the bone, explosion of flavours.

Authentic , delicious food.

Thank you for a lovely experience, we will be coming back.

Lalbagh Bengali Restaurant is situated in a small village of Bourn in Cambridge. As a group we decided to visit the Cambridge Mosque for prayers during Ramadan and needed a place to break our fast (Iftar) we booked this place.

They were the most accommodating restaurant I have ever visited and the food was out of this world. The customised our dishes and designed our own platter to feed our group as a whole.

The manager and the waiters were so nice and the service was 10/10. I would recommend this place to anyone.

Had a great Sunday night curry with my family for my birthday. This was my third visit. It’s been great every time. Delicious food, friendly and helpful staff and they even sang happy birthday with a free dessert to (my) much embarrassment. The food is a significant cut above your usual curry venue. I had the mixed grill and Lamb Makhani, family had Kala Ghust, Dhoi Salmon Tikka all with various sides. The flavours were fantastic. I recommend it highly. 5 stars!

Totally exceptional. Lalbagh has clearly considered every facet of the restaurant experience and makes an effort to deliver the very best.
We were incredibly impressed with the attention that was given to each dish, from the very top with the starters that had a certain amount of drama to them,
to the desserts that were quite fun. The mains were well portioned, well seasoned and obviously skillfully envisioned.
The staff were courteous and warm, and the little (free!) touches such as the hand wipes, orange slices and evening chocolate tipped the scale to make the dining experience really quite luxurious.
My final thought is that contrary to my expectations in Cambridgeshire, this experience was really well priced.
